Probably my boat. I use it more than most, but that still isn't all that often.

I have some expensive firearms that sit in my gun safe, one of which is a Benelli Super Vinci. I was really into duck hunting at the time so I decided to get myself a new shotgun. Spent $1800 on that gun then my buddy switched leases. I think I’ve used it less that 5 times.

Probably just a 4 wheeler I had for 13 years and gave to my son, who had it stolen from him in 3 days.

1967 Nova Chevy 2 SS. Money pit but with 4 speed and a 427 it’s hell of a lot of fun to drive.

G-Wagen. Had it for about 7 years, put about 15K miles on it. Always wanted one. I love the thing. I put a mild 1" lift and some 33" tires on it, it is badass. I love it when I drive it.

But it never worked out like I planned - I have taken it out on mild overlanding runs a few times but inexplicably my teenage daughters never wanted to be seen riding around town in it. Shocked the hell out of me. They caught this reverse-snob thing from envious little a-hole shits at school. And my wife has trouble climbing into the thing from when she blew up her knee years ago in a horse accident.

And it burns 93-octane gas by the metric shite-ton. And every time you pull into a gas station to fill up, it seems like everybody within 3 or 4 blocks looks at it and figures you owe them something.

So it mostly just sits. But it is badass.

And this thread consoles me a little to know that I'm not alone!

Maybe 5 people here get that joke.

I was guessing 3, honestly.

There aren’t a lot of circles where you can make that joke.

I’m rather fond of it. I shared it with the guy who introduced me to that watch. He laughed.

I've been known to flip off people in Gelandewagens. It's not a jealousy thing. It's a "get that hideous four-ton behemoth off my fragile suburban streets" thing.

Nothing against you personally. If you off-roaded in it, well, that sets you apart from 99% of owners.

Same with these crazy campers people buy now. Spend 150k on these massive 3 bedroom 5th wheels to go camping 3x a year. I have a small 25' I use prob 10-15x per year.
my wife has been on my arse about getting one. Just seems like a bad investment. I’m 56 so still have a few years until I retire. I think I’d be loaning it to family members more than I would use it

'59 Gibson Les Paul. Not really, just fantasizing. Not to mention, if I had one, I would play it hourly!!

Not my most expensive unused toy (that would be 6 of my 10 guitars) but I had a Traxxis RC Car that was gathering dust so I just gave it to a kid of a co-worker so it would get used.

Giving it away to a kid who uses it and loves it has brought me more joy that running it ever did.

‘05 Corvette. About 1500 miles a year. When I fill up and reset the trip computer the average speed is usually in the 30 mph range.
