Does anyone have any leads on some places to look for some scrap metal? I have a few projects around the house that i need some smaller sections of pipe and angle iron to complete.

Go to a local steel supplier. They may give you some... They have for me several times I've needed a short piece of flat bar or angle.

Go to a local scrap yard, farmer friend or a junk collector. If you go to Lowes or Tractor Supply you will pay high prices when theres a chance at the places mentioned before you can by it cheap by the piece or by the pound.

I miss the days when you could go to a scrap yard and buy stuff. None that I know of allow that any more. Probably for insurance reasons.

call the steel yard and see if they sell "drops," which are leftover pieces when they cut a piece to order. Brecheen in port allen is where i go. i usually just buy the 20' section, so i'll have my own scrap when i need it.

Hebert Scrap in Gonzales. Think Sanford & Son.

Go wait outside of a scrap yard and offer skeeter a better price than what the yard will pay
