Give us their 23 and 24 First along with Hopkins for Payton and you can have Thomas and Peat as well.

Only way we get their 1st is if we give something back. Im thinking we throw back a 4. And i would support that b/c it puts in in a place for a QB. That draft pick is very valuable. AZ could draft future LT, DT or starting CB. We may have to settle for 2nd this year and next years 1st.

Some of you think SP is worth way more then he is. He's won one super bowl, and cost us a few times getting there. jmo

Saw a tweet that the Cardinals are going to focus on GM before their coach hire. Any chance they would take Loomis and we promote Ireland?

Based on what I think I know about Payton, he is going to follow the Bill Parcels route and not take a job with bad ownership or where he does not have authority over the GM. Not saying he wants to be HC and GM just that he will not want to give the GM more power than him to dictate the direction of the team.

I say this because he has relied on Parcells advice in the past and that is what Parcells would advise someone that is going in with leverage. Also, Payton has said many times how well his relationship with Loomis was with the saints. Loomis is a rarity and many GM are the problems with teams and not the HC. Payton is not going to let himself get caught in that trap.

Then it comes to ownership. Benson was involved but he let the leadership run the organization while he decided if writing the check was what he wanted to do. This is why I laugh at talk of Payton coaching the Cowboys, no way Payton could put up with an owner like Jones always meddling in the day to day business of the team and players.

So which owner is going to give Payton the power to make the call over a GM and not meddle in the day to day affairs of the team?

Payton is worth the overall #1 pick if it came down to that and that is an easy call. Give me another available coach that has won a SB? Give me another HC that had the tenure with one team and every year was a contender. Give me the name of another HC that you have absolute confidence in that will have his team and his coaches ready to compete 99% of the time?

If I am the owner, I take a HC like that over a franchise QB every day because a franchise QB cannot run my team but my HC can coach up a franchise QB. The HC can bring in a FA player to replace the lost draft pick many times over.

Don't you mean picks? We're not going to let him go for one 1st round pick!

Can we set him up to make him look like he's fricking them over?

think youd be looking at their second and third this year and a first next year. I don't see them giving up that 3 pick in the first.

I don't either. I can't see any team giving up a top 3 pick for payton.

I could live with AZ 2nd this year and 1st and 2nd next year. Ideally I want their 3 this year but I’d rather a shot at Caleb

I like the deal the Raiders got for trading Gruden to Tampa Bay. Raiders got Tampa Bay's first-round pick in 2002, first-round pick in 2003 and a second round pick in 2004. The Bucs also threw in $8 million in cash.

Then Gruden went on to win the Super Bowl in his first season in Tampa Bay, by beating the Raiders in the championship game.

If a owner gives any coach not just CSP

that pretty much makes them the GM

Close. Oakland got two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks. And the 8 million bucks.

The Saints hold all the cards. They can tell AZ to frick off if they don’t like it. And the Saints should be total dicks when it comes to Payton coaching somewhere else while under contract.

Except if you don’t make a deal this year, the Saints would essentially get nothing next year. Both sides have a reason to get something done.

I agree they should be dicks and demand everything they can, but I don't think they will. I dont think the Saints get as much as we hope for Sean.

I think if Sean really wants to coach there, he would make the call for them to give up the pick.

Realistically, I could see them trading us their first if we gave them our second and maybe a player - an adebo, ruiz, werner along with payton.

That #3 pick is incredibly valuable

Then they can look elsewhere for a coach and their sh!t franchise can continue to be sh!t.
