He knew in the end McCarthy would be elected speaker. He wanted to take the win, and not a loss. Can you imagine if he came out against McCarthy what the headlines would have been? Especially on Jan 6th, it would have been Trump and his insurrectionists.

i always thought Pelosi played Trump wrong. If she had said trivial things like “Trump is a good looking man” or “Trump is brilliant”, he would have signed any bill she got to his desk.
