What are some good ones?

My phone gives me GoogleFit but I'm not a fan of that.

I have Nike+ and MapMyRun that I use for my morning g jog.

I have an app called MuscleBooster that gives me some quick daily exercises to do each day (10-15 minutes worth of body weight exercises)

Ever since MyFitnessPal took away barscan I haven't tracked my eating, just kinda monitored what I've eaten.

RunGo. I use it a lot. Not to track my runs, which it does, but to give me turn by turn directions.

For Macro tracking, I’ve used RP and now Macro Factor. They both do about the same. I don’t weigh myself as much as I should so my Macros don’t usually adjust.

I use Elite HRV with a Polar Heart Monitor to track HRV. I also use the Polar Heart Monitor with the Apple Fitness app to monitor my HR when I’m working out.

I actually really like the Fitbit app for tracking movement and weight. i have an old arse Fitbit One step tracker and a Fitbit scale with data in app since 2014.

I have been meaning to get an Apple Watch at some point but I always buy more lifting stuff instead :)

Forgot about the Polar HR monitor. Don’t run without one as I’m heart rate training.

I use a fitbit as I wear a FitBit Sense, just not a fan of some of the features like logging food and feel that it isn't always accurate.

Ah I use myfitnesspal for food logging even though it’s kind of clunky

SmartWOD for intervals or just timing elements of workout.

When I do my sled work, I add weight every 2min and this really helps.

I also like to use it for normal lifts to keep my rest/work consistent.

I use strong for lifting. Need a new one for macro tracking now that myfitnesspal wants me to pay for barcode scanning

Anyone use or have knowledge of Carbon app? This is Layne Norton’s diet tracking app. Looks to be $10/month and less if you do 6 or 12 months. Sounds like there is active coaching involved. I was thinking about signing up.

Carbon is good

I would rate them

1) MacroFactor
2) carbon
3) avatar
4) RP

MacroFactor will use your weight even if you don’t hit macros to calculate new macros, something the others don’t. Key is just to make sure you don’t half way track, track fully even if you are non compliant

Any of those let you set your own macros and track it the way you want similar to my fitness pal?

I love mapmyrun. I log my weights and runs in it. It has everything.

I've found mapmyrun to not be registering anything lately, set it and Nike+ at the same time. After an hour Mapmyrun had me at 0.01 miles while Nike+ had me at 3.42

I can’t set MapMyRun along with the workout app on my watch. It’s either one or the other.

not any of those. they are diet coaches as in they give you a generic macros based off age, weight, activity level bf% etc

then they ask you to log everything adn be compliant and input your weight 2-7x times per week and over time it adjust your macros

macrofactor will adjust even if you are not compliant based off the log and weight so even if you are not compliant the system is learning your metabolism.

RP is the strictest by far

carbon doesnt do anything if you are non compliant, essentially its just like layne and just yells at you to get compliant

avatar has prolly the most features but imo its not supported nearly as much now that MF and carbon have come out. it allows quite a bit of adjustment in macros based off inputs

if you are just looking for inputting and manually adjusting macros, these are not for you. find a free app to do that.
