Hearing a Rotorcraft Leasing Bell 407 went down in WD 106 area with 5 on board. Have no other details other than it was working for Island Operating Company. Will post as I hear updates.

RLC and Panther need to be taken out of business.

You couldn’t pay me enough to get me on a helicopter.

Fact. It’s not if, it’s when it goes down.

If you took every helicopter operator who's had a accident out of service then nobody would have helicopters in the Gulf of Mexico last three crashes have been two by Rotorcraft and one by West Wind.

Yes they did. Cause was the pilot hooked the landing gear skid in the safety fence and basically flip the aircraft into the water everybody survived

I believe that’s pretty far out in the Gulf. Regardless, I hope there’s plenty of rescue craft that can get to the site quickly.

Coast guard just had a 60 take off from belle chase but its headed to gulf port area...
Doesn't look like anyone is around that area according to flight radar.

I saw a RLC 407 pop up on flightradar near SW Pass then disappear. Customs sent a king air from Hammond to the area.

Westwind and RLC are the cheaper helicopter options due to mostly older cheaper aircraft, and less experienced cheaper mechanics and pilots for the most part. Also they fly the higher risk production flights hopping around the shallow areas of the gulf that the big boys don’t bother with.
