Since I cant start threads, I am just using this thread to ask a question, since this thread is about a car.

I just want to see what people have to say about this.

When it gets really cold outside should you park your vehicle as close to your house as possible?

I have shipped cars quite a few times. Plan on $2 a mile and you will be in the ballpark.

set it up thru Uship. Carriers will bid on your transport - you select who carries it. I shipped one from Chicago to BR in September and used an enclosed trailer. Very efficient.

Based on the car's value, decide whether to get the trip insured.

Car shipping is the ultimate crapshoot. You are at their mercy and they generally don't give a frick about you or your car. Good luck. I've done it a few times. Last experience was pretty good. Others not so much. Just go ahead and triple whatever time estimate they give you. I had a shipper take about 4 hours to get from baton rouge to nola.

3 months from NOLA to delivery in Bozeman. Your comment can’t be emphasized enough.

This is exactly the type of question that has you banned from starting threads.

I have used Summit Auto Transport LINK several times and always been very satisfied with them. Great to work with.

If it needs to be restored, just use any car shipping service, if it’s already been restored, spend the money and get a high dollar guy with a large, fully enclosed trailer and double check his insurance levels. 10k for cross country

If it's a classic, get it delivered. Classic means old and some parts will be replaced every year. Get it to your place so you can get to know it on your terms, rather than the off chance of it breaking down in the middle of no where with parts available from California or Kansas maybe.

The OP did not mention if the vehicle is in fact roadworthy or the last time it was driven or if he has even seen it in person and inspected it. Just because a seller tells you the car is drivable doesn't guarantee it will get past the first stop light.
With that said, I'm guessing the OP knows it is not roadworthy or in a condition he is not comfortable with to put it on the road.

I just had a '94 Land Cruiser shipped form Maryland to Louisiana. It cost me $1,335. I used Preowned logistics. No complaints.

Not sure what the cost would be but you can find out pretty easily. Every shipping company will quote you for free as far as I understand. I've used this company LINK / in the past & would recommend them, but it's always smart to get a couple quotes & compare prices. BTW if you're shipping a classic, look for an "enclosed" shipping price. Most cars are shipped in a different fashion but that's not a chance I'd take with a classic car. You need more protection there - hence the enclosed aspect. Costs a little more but worth it if you have something worth protecting.
