I had his back during the whole interview thing and I didn’t even care when he apologized for it (even though he said nothing wrong).
What made me lose respect for him was when he decided to take it a step further and put a rapists name on his helmet after the evidence overwhelmingly showed Blake as the aggressor etc. Then his wife is on instagram saying how white people like them are part of the problem. That’s what ticked me off.
That and he became selfish in not retiring when he should have. The last few years it was clear he wasn’t physically able to make plays. And we missed out on Brady and a Super Bowl bc of it.
I don’t think Brees is a bad guy, he’s just a fraud. Hard to respect a man who turns his back on what he stands for.

The organization did it. It wasn’t much of a choice at that point. Pissing over drew in that situation is pretty fricking petty. Especially since you’ve probably watched a hundred nfl games since that moment. That’s called hypocrite.

That was probably put on by one of the managers because maybe his agent or someone thought it would be a good idea for whatever reason.. You have to consider the time, it was during Covid when the world was going insane. Honestly, I think all he cared about was winning a super bowl and was trying to "bring the team together" or some shite.
But they had started training camp when that happened I think.. I doubt Brees was really paying attention to the news. The media deserves some blame as well, I don't remember seeing too many articles that said "Man Violates Restraining Order; Tries To Kidnap Kids & As A Result Police Shoots Man Stopping Him From Kidnapping Kids & Being A Threat To Others".
FYI: I am not saying this is what happened, I am just saying maybe its not as simple as him saying "you know what? I am going to put this fricking pathetic loser's name on my helmet".

I was more of a Saints fan than an NFL fan. If I was home, and the Saints were on, I’d watch them. I also liked SNF, but I was never so into the NFL that I eagerly waited for Sunday just to watch whatever random teams that were playing.

One incident? Are you kidding? I held my nose, and continued to watch the NFL throughout the whole Kaepernick/Reid weekly circuses. The Drew Brees/Saints incident was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, for me.
