Lost my sweet girl yesterday of 11 years, she was an amazing and loving family dog. I would like to get another in the next month or two to be a great house dog, no need for a true hunting family. She will be a house lab that loves us and help protect our house and family.

Go through a breed rescue group.

You'll get the best of all worlds.

Got two dogs from them, sweet as can be until they don’t have to be.

Not sure why you got downvoted. We have an 8 yr old from there and picking up a second one in mid January. They have two litters right now with pups still available last time I checked, although probably not what somebody needs for just a pet. They’ve gone up a lot in price but they’re a top notch breeder in my opinion.

I feel your pain. We put our lab down last month. She had just turned 16. I'll never have another like her.

I'll probably jump on the doodle train because of the shedding though.

I have a chocolate lab off of miles from y farms. With out a doubt the best hunting dog I’ve ever owned. I wanna say they have a litter of miles puppy’s right now not sure if they are chocolate or black.

All black, 2 females left. I think this will be his last year breeding.

That’s a shame because he’s a stud. I hunted with Brad a few years ago and that dog blew me away. Had to wait a while to get a chocolate male off him but well worth the wait and money.

What’s the ballpark price for a pup from them?

All breeders appear to treat prices like secret information for some reason.

Thanks

Some of the prices will make you choke. That being said it’s expensive as hell to raise dogs and sell puppies if it’s done right and out of good bloodlines.
I used to raise beagles and sell puppies for $100 and lost money on it.I only would have about 1 litter a year so I wasn’t in it for the money,I just couldn’t keep the whole litter.

It’s possible to get a good dog from a backyard breeder but the odds are better with an established serious breeder.

2k from the Y - we were lucky that we had a backyard pup and had great health for 11 years until Saturday night. I’m ready to invest into another lab just to have a healthy friend again, we don’t have any kids so these dogs become our children.

Delta Duck Kennels

I bought a Lab / GSP mix from him almost 8 years ago and she is the best dog I have ever had. I had 2 black labs from respectable breeders and great bloodlines and one had hip issues and my British bloodline one was a great dog, but had hip issues, and ear issues, and both got cancer in year 6-7. Had a crazy Weimeriner that lived 15 years and didn't settle down till year 7. BUt my mix from Delta has been an awesome dog and comes to work with me daily.
