Democrats think if you are smart you get to lead, Republicans think if you rich, Elon is perfect example of the error of both of these positions.

I love how all the Musk equals Free speech people are trying to scramble to defend this shite for their cult hero. I was hopeful he meant what he said but he is obviously part of the “I am a God worship me mfers” crowd.
As an OG, let me say it almost never works out for “self appointed Gods” They always end up being murdered by their own men, in jail or in disgrace.

I do kind of disagree with removing content just because it has another link in it. Content created explicitly to advertise other sites, sure, but not just because it has that.
Example:
A slut posts a slutty picture, then has a list of links to her other content sites with no call to action to go there instead is good and should stay.
A slut makes a tweet with nothing other than "hey, I want you to go to Mastodon, sign up, and follow me there!" can be removed.

exactly. I get that people love seeing twitter outrage but the policy is a pretty big change and sorta goes against the whole "people should be able to say whatever they want on twitter" that Elon was preaching months ago

I'm still unsure why the last owners of Twitter were not allowed to have rules at all, but Elon can just make them up as he sees fit and apply them retroactively... While all the free speech absolutists™ cheer and grab their popcorn...

Nobody said they couldn’t have any rules. What they said was the government telling them who to ban is a violation of the 1st amendment. It isn’t a difficult concept. I am amazed how many people are confused on this.
