2021: 1,482 yds 9 TDs

2022 (excluding Daniels 818 yds 11 TDs): 1,534 yds 24 TDs

Really puts into perspective how good of a Job BK, Denbrock and Brad Davis have done in fixing what was a non-existent run game.

No credit to any of the players actually running the ball?

So excluding JD they gained 4 yards per game more. That’s outstanding!

What are you seeing in those stats that puts it into perspective? I get it’s a lot more TDs but total yards etc are almost identical.

2022 was with like 50 less carries. Avg/ run. 2020/21 we averaged 1 yd a carry in like 4 sec games, each of those seasons. Run game was night and day this yr. Even without that feature back, and really just a collective solid group of rbs. No explosive guys (Goodwin hurt too much)

Not very great and somewhat makes me excuse Jake Peetz.

What that dude did with Max Johnson is seeming magical

Max is a better QB than the Rant gives credit. Had that dumbass Jimbo started him all year they wouldn’t have lost 7 games.

Yes but with Jaydens contributions it’s not even close. I separated Jayden’s stats because idk how many of those yards were from designed runs and thus can be attributed to the improvement in the run game. Regardless the run game was much more consistent and fruitful not to mention the higher YPC I should’ve included

The threat of Daniels running opens wide holes for everyone else

I'm sure that seemed somehow smart in your mind. A QB that can run well becomes part of the running game so discounting his rushes seems pointless unless you have a good source for which runs were specifically designed QB runs. You should also count read plays where he keeps the ball because that is also part of the rushing offense.

But let's look at it removing all the QBs from the equations just to see what we have there.

2021 351 carries by non QBs for 1607 yards and 8 TDs. That is 27 carries per game for 123.6 YPG and .615 TDs per game.

2022 22.6 carries per game for 121.2 YPG and 1.84 TDs per game.

So would you rather have the 2 1/2 more yards per game or one more touchdown per game?

Great plan having the QB be leading runner! What an interesting perspective.

Idiot.

Rushing TDs don’t count especially if the QB is running for them instead of passing

Rather have a kick arse passing game.

Just imagine how big the holes would have been had JD thrown and hit receivers downfield on a consistent basis. No downfield threat equals more people commmitted to the run game.

No, no, no! Much better to have a running QB.

He had the highest completion percentage of any of the three that started, and the highest YPA, and no picks.

King was a terrible choice for Jimbo to make.

Conner Weigman is the better QB and it’s not close.

Our oline was severely underrated by our fans this season. Football outsides graded them top 8 or better by every metric this season except giving up sacks. In that area we were 126th despite being 8th in pass protection time allowed.
