Ive got Act of Valor and I feel strongly about that. Watched it at least 8 times over the years. Once you get past the actual Navy Seals flubbing a few lines every now and then, it's actually an epic action movie. The action scenes are elite and when the one Navy Seal dies in the tunnel at the end and then they show his military funeral, it's pretty powerful. Also the guy who plays the Russian Jihadist antagonist and also the actor who plays the financier both are great villains.

Highly highly recommended if nobody's seen it yet.

I think it's been pretty highly rated, but this reminds me that everyone should see RRR.

Never heard of that but my favorite action movie is also a foreign language one.

It doesn't get the kind of love we give movie that are complete fiction. It's real, and regardless of technology, no individual is in more of a pickle than the hero in it.

Do people not think of Apocalypto as an action movie?

If not, then what is it?

Other ones I think are rated a little low.

Ronin (1998)
The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)
True Romance (1993)

Stone Cold starring Brian Bosworth. A totally ridiculous and over the top action movie that is truly a spectacle to watch. Total satire of action movies. Brian Bosworth ends up getting everybody killed in the end by trying to pull 80's action movie antics. Hilarious.

While I think Frankenheimer did a fantastic job, I just imagine how well this film would be regarded if Mann had directed it - it was a perfect match.
