I have 5 or 6 bottles in my bathroom cabinet, many I haven’t even opened. I rarely wear cologne, and when I do it’s usually just the OG Polo in the green bottle. There’s a Tommy Bahama in there I like as well. Couldn’t even tell you what the others are. They were all gifts, some going back 20+ years.

Aventus by Creed
How does this compare to green Irish tweed or millesime ?
For me, Aventus is something to be worn at night and/or to impress the ladies. it's not something I'd wear during the day or at the office.
green Irish tweed and millesime are more appropriate for daytime and office wear. I find them to be more fresh and sporty, whereas aventus is sultry (for lack of better description).

I've been wearing this basically the last 3 or 4 months and really like it. I just bought a bottle of D&G light blue intense and it is really nice.
Creed is out of the price range that I want to pay for cologne as I stopped wearing cologne years ago and just started again. I honestly thought I was gaining allergies to perfumes/scents pretty bad but as soon as I stopped sleeping in the bed with my wife in the separation, I haven't had the same problems. It may have been something she was putting on at night that had me break out and she stopped using it when I was breaking out.
ETA: I have a metric shite ton of colognes from 10+ years ago that I still have. Aqua di Gio, Hugo Boss and several others. I quit wearing them and I don't know if cologne holds or if I need to trash them all and start the collection back over.

Same. I did when I was in HS and some in college maybe. I have a bottle in there that's got to be 20 years old.

cheapest way to get into creed and other high end colognes is buying "splits" on eBay to try stuff out and get smaller amounts for a reasonable price.
basically, someone will buy the big size bottle (500 or 1000ml) and then decant it into small spray bottles (usually 5, 10 or 20ml).
it's also a good way to avoid buying a big bottle that doesn't get used and goes bad after a while.
as with anything on eBay, just check sellers feedback.

You can tell the age of this place when talking about fricking colognes

After 10+ years they probably aren't any good, but, if they smell ok to you, try them out. The scent is probably extremely weak by now, though.
I've got a couple bottles that are 3-4 years old now and they still smell the same as they always have but eventually it just gets really weak and smell won't last all day. Cologne will spoil eventually.
I've been trying a bunch of different colognes lately and I like Prada Luna Rossa Black a lot. Another under the radar cologne I love is Kenneth Cole Mankind Hero, get a ton of compliments with that one. D&G The One is very nice as well, I've seen a lot of people mention it ITT and it's fire.
Been trying some different high dollar stuff and I like Creed Viking more than Aventus, personally. Also have some other stuff I haven't gotten around to trying yet, just a bunch of samples from Creed, Tom Ford, Louis V, etc.
Also, still a huge fan of old school Polo Black, Polo Blue, Versace Man, and Acqua di Gio.

How do you like this one? I want to try it out as a cold season cologne

Love it. My gf is really into cologne/perfume and picked it out for me. Prior I had only ever been using Lacoste Red; also almost finished with a Dunhill but don’t know the name.
The One is great and really has some longevity.

I think price range was the wrong word to use there. I don't mind spending 300 on something I know I will use frequently. I am just getting back into using perfumes after thinking I had developed skin allergies for 5 years of marriage. If I continue being able to use it, I don't mind dropping cash on something nice like that.

Sauvage by Dior is great, and a good price point. Any of the YSL colognes are nice, as well, and equally affordable.
It's funny so many mention the Baccarat Rouge 540, because I absolutely love how it smells on me, but I realize it's technically a unisex scent. I just think of it as a ladies' perfume for some reason. No idea why though.
