Wonder if he makes grades for this semester? Hopefully he is going to class.

We won't be bringing him in to park cars so yes he is a take with agreed upon requirements.

Best to keep it quiet until we sign the young CBs though. Wouldn't say Harris is worth taking over what we have

I don’t think it’s an either or situation. There is plenty of playing time at the CB position available.

Maybe, but it’s a balance. If taking him means it scares off the 2 young corners—or just 1–and Harris is on a 1-chance and he’s out deal, the worst case scenario is you miss on the young guys, he fricks up and gets sent packing, and then you’ve got 1 or none instead of all 3. Or the 2 younger guys with more eligibility and more leash. I trust Kelly and staff to make the right call(s), but taking Harris is a risk. We have zero experienced CBs ready to play next year.

Obviously a kid like him could benefit greatly from Alignment.
Look what Key and Emery and Baskerville - and prolly others we don't know about - have accomplished in the Classroom and on the field.
Dudes have caught up to their potential as young men and learned how to live the rest of their lives.

Hearing really positive things about a meeting today with LSU coaches and Denver Harris. Harriss will make a trip to Baton Rouge next week and could see him make an announcement shortly following. Stay Tuned

If he wants to join with a single frick up he's off the roster with 0 tolerance I'm okay by it. Better keep his nose clean here or he gone.

This. What works in our favor is that we see how Boutte went from making some comments early on and getting some heat from the staff for bad habits to becoming a leader who really bought in. We see how Baskerville and Emery went from having issues in the classroom to getting their acts together and staying eligible.

This staff and the culture they are building have helped other players get on the right track. I know Harris has had some bigger issues, but if he’s willing to make changes, I think this staff can get him in line. And if it doesn’t work out, they won’t put up with any bullshite and he’ll just be gone.

He wants to be at LSU. Tack Minor is his step dad, so LSU runs deep. He's gonna have to make some sacrifices to make this work, and I've waffled on if I would bring him in if it were my team. The thing is that you don't want him to disrupt the locker room and it seems like there are alot of people that would be a good influence on him, and none that would be a bad influence. It's minimal risk, if he fricks up, he's gone, but it could be a huge reward.

A guy like Boutte, after his ups and downs and maturity, will be a senior and should be a perfect mentor for him. Sucks that we don't have a veteran presence in that CB room that will be the closest to him.

Or lack there of. These kids aren’t being developed at A&M either.

We don’t have that but we do have a honeybadger right down the road. If he won’t listen to the badger then just cut bait cause he’s lost.

What ups and downs? Did I miss something? Boutte was never suspended and never broke the law. He simply got hurt and then had a QB who isn't capable of getting him the ball.

Why are people in this thread acting like Boutte was ever a problem? It's absurd.

What comments did Boutte make? And what were his bad habits?

We need corners. If he acts up kicks his arse to the curb

That just means you still need corners and would have one less roster spot
