What’s so “wow” about it? No way Kelly should assure anyone a job, you win the job. You don’t let players dictate the terms.

Now if I was Nuss’s father I would want to know the plan, is LSU ride or die with Daniels? If so, I tell my son to ride off into a better situation now, coming off a hell of a performance.

Again, as a fan I hope he stays. Daniels has hit his ceiling, we now have the OL to protect a pocket passer. The cream will rise next year and it’s obvious Daniels is not the answer.

That describes a lot of ranters. Also more invested in being right than objective.

Though I must admit that sometimes I take contrarian views just because I get so tired of the hyperbole.

I agree 100%. My dad said he thinks BK has never had a pocket passer like Nuss at ND so he will stick with JD. That is why he thinks Nuss is transferring. But my Dad who is pretty level headed about these things at 76 said, that kid is a QB, they better play him.

I agree with your dad and share his fear. Nuss will be that one that got away.

Burrow bled tOSU too and may still but he realized that he had to leave to get his chance.

fair but he left after a full 3 seasons and transferred after the spring competition when the qb moving forward was declared.

This maybe just hoping, but I do not think so. I saw a gleam in BK's eye when Nuss pulled a Joe Burrow on that TD. The big smile told me he saw what he wanted, I would not be shocked if this bowl game we saw JD for the last time or his injury needs more time to heal and Nuss starts. Nuss turn all those received into explosive problems and he significantly improved from the beginning of the year.

Burrow didn't do anything TO Ohio State other than transfer from the school.

Not important.

More important that according to Kelly's remarks yesterday we know who will be starting the bowl game and also next year.

So ready yourselves for more of the same next year.

Purdue is a team that Nuss would work his will on.

I agree. If he does enter the portal TCU becomes a leader for him. I would think he will have company going with him.

No such thing as this these days.

It may be next year, it may be in 5 years, but at some point you’ll adjust and understand the transfer portal and how it relates to QBs, especially.

Building a QB room is a year to year thing.

LSU, as ab elite recruiting football university, will always be in position to pull a QB if they need one. At this moment they do not need one. If a guy is transferring, it means the guy ahead of him is better. And that’s just something you’ll have to adapt to

Ask Malik Nabers how he feels.

The quote he gave regarding Nussmeier coming in after Daniels went down. Context matters, he was answering a question (two actually) and doing that in the way he should. I would take it as anything other than that personally.

quote:

On the fight that they showed in this game to still be able to fight through adversity after getting down early, losing Daniels to an injury and Nussmeier stepping in, and what he is going to take away from this game:

“Obviously how we looked at it didn't matter. Quarterback came in. There were just plays to be made on the field. I feel like Garrett gave us opportunities to make plays on the field and we did it in the second half. I was very proud of the offense that we didn't give up, we kept striving and putting plays together.”

On the passing game working with both quarterbacks in the game against the Georgia defense, and what specifically they were doing well to have so much success in that area:

“You know, it was just our guys just playing, being better than other people, just pushing the ball down the field, creating matchups with speed guys, other guys in the cornerback position. I feel like Garrett gave us opportunities down the field, trusting us to make plays. We came out and made those plays.”

Or did you mean the quote where he was praising Daniels for playing hurt?

quote:

On Daniels playing through injury in the second quarter, and what that said about him as a player and competitor:

"I feel like that tells me that he's passionate about playing the game of football for this team. He's a fighter. He came in here with a bump on his ankle, but he just never backed down through practice or anything. He just kept fighting. To say that he fought through three quarters of play against the No. 1 team on a bum ankle shows that he's a pretty strong player."

We'll be looking for considerably more than that.

This reminds so much of the apologetics for Miles.

This was year 1 of a rebuild where the last stump fricker swamptard coach left us with nothing. We won the west after going .500 the last two years.
I think we are on track for something better regardless of who the fricking QB is.

I tend to agree with those that say if Daniel is clearly going to be the starter next year that Nuss may very well transfer. THis is not because of any disloyalty to LSU but hes doing what is best for his career.

What people are not assessing is Nuss's view of Walker Howard behind him. We don't know what goes on at practice or what has been going on for months at practice. If he feels that he could get passed up by Walker Howard than he will definitely transfer.

If someone at another SEC or Big12 program tells Nuss the job is his, or it looks like that, why ride the pine behind Daniels with Howard right behind you, assuming Howard is that good.

when he hurt his ankle and came back onto the field barely being able to walk I thought "the coaches think daniels playing on one leg is better than a healthy nuss"

I’m sure they are hoping he’ll hit the portal. Tenn would probably be the first school to call him.
