§ 1738C. Certain acts, records, and proceedings and the effect thereof
(a) In General.—No person acting under color of State law may deny—
(1) full faith and credit to any public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any other State pertaining to a marriage between 2 individuals, on the basis of the sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin of those individuals; or
(2) a right or claim arising from such a marriage on the basis that such marriage would not be recognized under the law of that State on the basis of the sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin of those individuals.

Heterosexuals ruined the purity of marriage many many years ago. How many kids grow up in divorced families. How many straight marriages end due to adultery. A gay couple living together with a piece of paper that gives them the same legal rights that other tax payers receive doesn't effect anyone else. Sweep your own porch first hypocrites
I love how that is being down voted. Funny you can't handle facts thrown in your face. You can hate the statement but it's still TRUE.

Can the Catholic Church be sued for refusing to marry a gay couple?

Let me ask everyone if homosexuals changed the name from Gay marriage to Civil Union and performed at city hall and not a church would you still have issues?
Nope.
In reality, I don't think the government should be in the marriage business to start with.
However, this crusade has never been about equal rights, it has been about the continued erosion of society...
No slippery slope, amirite?

This is why you have to be a member of our church or denomination to get married in our building. We don’t allow unrepentant homosexuals into membership as it would be a violation of their membership vows.

It makes perfect sense. You’re just retarded.

have you read the language of the bill. Its very short, and could be interpeted by the current SCOTUS as to give the right back to the states.

wasn't legal for gay people to enter into contracts?
Not as a couple with the same rights as heteros that are married.
If a gay couple work, pay taxes, own property why should they not be allowed to have the same legal rights as a straight couple? Marriage is certified by the government not the church that's why you have to have a marriage license. Government issues that license not the Church. Gay citizens should have the same government legal rights as heteros otherwise it's discrimination and unconstitutional.

It doesn't force states to issue "marriage" licenses and simply requires them to recognize "marriage" licenses issued in other states.
The marriages may be performed elsewhere but all states are forced to recognize same sex marriage. What about states rights?

Thay long ago interjected themselves into "marriage" which was and still IS a union of a man and a woman ordained by God through his churchquote:

Does this mean mandatory gay cakes? Like, with a little Mickey Goldstein and agspank holding sacks on top?

No, not all of them. Divorce and remarriage is an invalid marriage in most cases and adultery. And marriage is between a man and a woman.

Always assume there is BS built into a bill. Unless it’s one page long and clearly stated otherwise.

Actually to be honest I did it to see which one would get more down voted. I don't get butthurt over the opinions of people I don't know nor never will.

All that got 'codified' here is what a thoroughly depraved, degenerate nation that this has become.
Anyone that doesn't believe this will be used to further lawfare-style persecution of religious and moral business-owners and individuals is criminally naive.
The whole idiotic homo marriage degeneracy is what opened the door to all this drag-queen, tranny child-mutilation, freak-show perversion, that has overtaken the culture. The country has devolved into a noxious sewer. Certainly no longer the kind of country I'd pledge allegiance to anymore.
