It's easy to see why the country is lost

Just go look at the scoreboard, you have grown men starting threads crying about their entire year is ruined because they lost to A&M. In a rebuilding year we are going to the SEC title game.

Do they care about their families this much? Who their Congressman is? Who is pushing propaganda on their children?

Give it a day and see if there's a rebound...A&M is pretty bad this year, and losing to them like that is a pretty bad mark. Overall, though, future looks pretty good for LSU, especially with Saban likely nearing retirement.

SEC could easily become Kelly v Kirby very soon.

I think many people have checked out of politics because they feel it's futile. Many papers and articles have been written about the narcissism and mental issues that seem to be endemic to the political class. Normal people despise it and are repulsed by it - and I think checking out is the reaction that is inevitable. The apathy is sad to watch, however.

Can't remember who, but he was commenting on the relative apathy in the US - he said that things simply have not gotten bad enough.

- Many people are content to be able to go to Starbucks, get on the internet, and gather in safe spaces like college campuses. Eventually the totalitarian / globalists will even take that away. On the way, healthcare will be a crisis and people will beg the gov to intervene. That'll be taken away too. Electric grid will be controlled and people won't be allowed to charge their Tesla. And on and on.

- Eventually people wake up and find they are oppressed. They are oblivious to not being free. It takes active oppression to wake them up.

- It's nearly impossible to awaken those in a stupor. Like ice water to the face, the jarring reality of oppression is the only thing that will awaken those people.

I remember when I let a sports loss ruin my day, that was when I was like 19/20. Whats worse is when they have no ties whatsoever to the team they root for and that ruins their day.

Priorities and responsibilities.

Currently, we are massively fricked in the head on both subjects.

Wholesale misallocation of priorities and total lack of responsibility among the general population.

We are fat, dumb, and happy because of the hard work, focused priorities, and devoted responsibility that others, primarily previous generations, have provided us.

We are completely but methodically destroying it piece by piece through massive self indulgence of whims, feelings, selfish desires, misguided and naive ideas, and perverted fantasies.

That lsu v a&m game...is a game. A game and it means NOTHING. It means absolutely nothing in real consequence. It’s bull shite. A distraction. A folly. The people crying about it from their overstuffed La-Z-Boys are probably much more upset about it than the kids that actually played the game.

The answer is NO, sadly. Too much energy spent on useless endeavors. Bread and circuses. Imagine spending energy on semi-pro football? These are not your father's amateurs. I find it to be silly and sad.

That’s the scoreboard anytime LSU is losing. Hell, you can find posts like that every football game we play. Some LSU fans are giant vaginas.

I would wager that almost everyone of those cares about their family that much. As far as Congressman or propaganda goes, probably not; however, we just had an election and a lot of people don’t fear a boogeyman of “propaganda” as they don’t see everything as being propaganda and parent their children to teach values and morals.

You’re angry because people are overreacting to a game which is true, but mad they don’t value politics as much as you. Conservatives say all the time they just want to be left alone to work and raise their families. I would suggest a lot of these people are doing just that and simply don’t see politics as the existential threat that you do for this country. Frankly, I agree with them.

This country is lost because we have allowed the CIA to take over Hollywood and the media. And because of that we are bombarded with propaganda constantly.

Sports serves as a convenient distraction for them obviously, but if the media we consumed was actually factual instead of the chaotic mess it is currently, people wouldn't be so quick to tune out current events.

It’s the one thing that affects us all and determines the future of the country that our children and grandchildren will inherit.

Its the definition of existential.

It doesn't seem to make sense until you realize that some people find their identity in sports. When their team loses it is as if they personally have lost. Remember the Bama fans who left the stadium crying after losing the National Championship game to Clemson in 2019?

That right there.

That about sums up why we’re where we are, and why we’re headed to our end point.

Exactly.

Why would anyone think our benevolent benefactors in Washington D.C. have nothing but our best interests in mind?

It is utter LuNaCy to suggest otherwise!

Excellent assessment, P2.

quote:

It takes active oppression to wake them up.

The Left believes in and worships 'oppression' (Fascism, such being total Government control of resources, collective GNP and cultural/ideological beliefs). As will those less powerful (intellectual/psychological) folks who will not do well in a competitive, merit-based economic model (Capitalism).

I don't think it will be "oppression" that wakes up the "Woke" and those who oppose Fascism, it will be the painful societal consequences via their idealist delusion. The Chinese people are rioting in the streets right now re 'oppression'. "The Fourth Turning" is a neat historical take on this cyclical scenario.

Personally, I view change as inevitable and a Human evolutionary plus. Pain nws. But as my "First Principle" is that of (Religious) Faith, such optimism would be the fruits of said Belief. Utopian 'pie-in-the-sky'? We'll find out soon enough.

Lord have mercy on them who Love.

If they did, they would have quit watching sports and/or supporting a university that doesn’t support or stand for their values and hasn’t for a long time…

One of the best things I ever did was quit wasting my time and money supporting the University of Alabama…. I didn’t realize what a waste it had been until I walked away…

Now I spend more time with my family doing quality family things and save a ton of money that lets me do things like expand my deer lease, etc…

US is the greatest country in the world and football is a big part of it. Even with LSU loosing last night.

My 40 year old daughter has had the Qatar soccer matches on nonstop. They are for sleeping, much like cricket .
