Looking for some more info on Peru, particularly the sacred valley. I read through the stickied travel thread (thank you btw!).
We want to do 6 days in Cuzco - 4 for Machu Picchu hike and 2 days for Cuzco, 2 days in Lima, and 2 days in a luxury resort in the sacred valley. Any recommendations for the sacred valley are appreciated. If I am missing a must do - willing to adjust this itinerary.
Any recs are appreciated!

I was at Tambo del Inka in 2017 and it was outstanding -- just an awesome resort.
While you're there in Urubamba, eat dinner at El Huacatay for an amazing meal with local ingredients.

Funny, same hotel same year.
Sister property in Cusco Palacio del Inka was nice too.
Be careful with the food. Wife found out the hard way. Night in the hospital. Peru is not her favorite trip

Sorry that happened to her, but Peru has the best food in South America.

I prefer Argentina’s beef over Peru’s guinea pigs. I’ve had both.

Definitely had some good food. Crushed cerviche.

Wow. Really? Food poisoning?

Ya, it was her fault. She wanted internet at the base of Machu Picchu and went into a suspect restaurant. Then ordered a soup I think, despite my objection.
The good news I suppose was the private room with a whole separate full size bed for me next to her, the administration of Cipro, the visit of the doctor to our hotel room and the ambulance ride to the hospital was under $500! And I'm pretty sure they were charging us the American rate
Anyway, not to dissuade anyone from going, can happen anywhere.
For OP, we had fun doing an ATV tour that included the salt mines in the Sacred Valley.

Water based food isn’t smart.
I did Peru about 7 years ago. Hiked about a quarter of the trail. Did the gringo killer and sun gate at the end and spent a few nights in Cuzco. Good times

Try some of their un-cut coke and you can do most of that in four days.
