MSNBC host Joy Reid went on a Thanksgiving Eve rant to debunk the holiday’s “myth” and linked the cherished feast to slavery before ladling on a mention of the Ku Klux Klan.
The left-leaning anchor began her Wednesday night show by “unpacking” the Thanksgiving traditions of food, football and family.
“It is a holiday riddled with historical inaccuracies, built on this myth that the indigenous welcomed their colonizers with open arms and ears of corn,” Reid said. “A simplistic fairytale interpretation of a 1621 encounter between indigenous tribes and English settlers that erases the genocide that followed.”
“It is the truth that Republicans want banned from our textbooks because here is the secret they want so desperately to keep: We are a country founded on violence. Our birth was violent,” she concluded.
On Wednesday, Reid also invoked information from the “1619 Project” to accuse America of continuing to perpetuate violence and even white supremacy. Although this interpretation of American history by the 1619 Project has been pushed in schools, several historians have called out inaccuracies in the project, Fox News reported.
Reid later linked these instances of choosing violence “over and over again” to the recent shootings reported from Colorado and Virginia.

Thanksgiving was a holiday established by Abraham Lincoln to get people thinking positively during the darkest time in our history. In 1863, over 200,000 Americans fell killed and wounded (most of them in just three battles) in the second full year of our civil war. Only in the years following 1863 did we try to incorporate stories of Native Americans and Europeans into the narrative in an attempt to improve relations. The idea behind Thanksgiving has always been about ignoring differences/disagreements and bringing people together. Joy Reid is insistent upon tearing us apart. Damn her to Hell.

2) these indigenous people were not saints. they killed and enslaved other tribes and fought over lands!
3) every continent has had slavery except antartica
4) ask her what indigenous people in africa did? fought and killed each other and sold their own into slavery to arab muslims and then euros 400 years later.
5) would she rather be a hunter-gatherer living in a teepee or have modern education, engineering and medicine and technology?

The entire history of mankind is violence and racism. Every race has enslaved another culture or race at some point. This is not something unique to the United States. As a country you attempt to do better and we have.

People like her remind me just how good I have it. I’m glad she wallows in misery and is given a forum to tell everyone just how horrible things are even when they aren’t. For the people that listen to her and value her opinion well…. Have fun with that. Misery loves company.

Wokeness is a legit religion. We gots that original sin. Multiple original sins. If you're born white, you are evil and must repent at the altar of wokeness. If you have a normal Thanksgiving, you are evil because of the slaughtering of natives hundreds of years ago... you must repent at the altar of wokeness.
Repent! Only by repenting can your sins become more tolerable.

The owner of my company is Indian and has traveled all over the world.
He says the US is BY FAR the least racist place in the world… and it’s not even close.
