Then stop responding. Leave the thread. You've offered nothing of substance whatsoever.
At least I'm a fan of Tolkien and there's a reason why I'm discussing this topic.
What the hell is your excuse?
Me knowing what I'm talking about actually gives my view more validity, not less.
Get a life? And what, be an NPC like you?
Hard pass.

Rings of Power remained in the TOP 5 of the Neilsen ratings for its entire seven-week run. That's what rational people would call a colossal success.

But you're truly not getting what I'm saying. Again, for the 3rd time, this was watching videos about a topic which interests me and over a span of YEARS. Long before this show even dropped, back in Sept. 2022. Jesus, stop being so focused on one part of a sentence and read the whole thing before you respond.
I understood that the first time, thank you. Yes watching 50 videos over the course of a few years on a show you don’t watch, is very strange.

How am I an NPC?
I am a Tolkien fan, I gave the show a chance, it sucked, I moved on with my life. I have other things to enjoy in my life to not have to wallow in negativity over a series that sucks but does nothing to change the good things from Tolkien out there.
Keep up the "fight"

We don't want any of these facts around here.
In all seriousness, it's the kind of property that people will end up watching despite alleged hardcore Tolkien fans losing their minds.
It felt too slow to me though. I'll probably keep watching but it's not appointment TV for me like House of the Dragon or the Boys.

Then dropped out of the top 10 immediately after its run.
That's a colossal global failure for a billion-dollar TV show and the most expensive in history.

I'm trying to think of a show that really let me down. And then thinking how I would obbsess over it.
I mean I've watched Red Letter Media and Mr Plinkett reviews but never so many on one topic.
But regardless of how bad people like me and you who actually watched a few episodes think it was. The OP is very wrong about viewership.

Cobrai Kai was the top show then fell off.
Wednesday was the top show and then fell off.
Squid Game was the top show and then fell off.
It's streaming not broadcast.

I wish the takeaway from this is that the public was bored with 100 variations on the same stuff (ie, SW, LOTR, superhero) but I doubt that's the case.
Soon, hopefully.
Soon, hopefully.

What could have been a fantastic tv series was instead a colossal frick up of tolkien world. Only because woke socialists wanted to inject their woke beliefs into tolkien world and change it.
They will never be forgiven.
They will never be forgiven.

You will each and all be singing a different tune about this show when we see Morfydd Clark's boobs and frontal cooch shots mixed in with Charlie Vickers's schlong and butt shots as they get it on.
I'm betting Amazon has already started filming these scenes.

I didn't care for the show, but it wasn't a colossal failure and there is nothing to show that by the numbers it was.
You and others really really wanted it to be bad, so you've convinced yourself that it was a failure, which is just showing you're out of touch with reality when it comes to RoP. You more than anybody, you got banned because you were legitimately loosing your mind in threads.
I will say about the OP, he has hated on it as much as anybody, but he never watched it. Which is odd to me, but he at least backed up his hate, like OML, by not supporting it. You were tuned in every week, popcorn in hand, ready for the next episode. You were part of it's success, so congrats on that. You'll be doing the same with season 2 I have no doubt.

If ONLY I had explained this many times over in multiple threads... oh, wait. I did exactly that.
To watch it, I needed to keep my Amazon Prime subscription. Which I cancelled, knowing full well how this show was going to go. And I was proven right, as it was worse than I thought because I was told it was going to be faithful to Tolkien. It wasn't.

You were part of it's success
It as an abysmal failure. Much like Captain Marvel, which benefited greatly by being sandwiched between two epic Avengers movies. Big money draw, as fans were catfished into watching the character, but look at the chit-show that's come after. That's what S2 of RoP will look like, but only worse.

What streaming show doesn't fall out of the Top 10 shortly after its run?
