After School Satan Club Allowed To Hold Meetings In California Elementary School Cafeteria

I don't get the thinking of the Satanists on this one. Hey, you wanna worship Beelzebub? Knock yourself out. Mazel tov. But why target an elementary school to hold your meetings? Ostensibly the rationale is that the school allows a Christian club to have similar meetings. I get that part. But are Satanists actually looking for children to be members of their cult? If not, is this request merely a pretense to stop Christian clubs from meeting in schools? Is that the end game?

A California elementary school is permitting an “After School Satan Club” to hold monthly meetings in the school’s cafeteria. Some parents and grandparents whose children attend the Golden Hills Elementary School in Tehachapi, California, are expressing their outrage.
“The Satanic Temple began communication with the district in late October and submitted its completed Civic Center Facilities User Permit Application on Oct. 21,” the Tehachapi News reported. “The organization was informed on Nov. 14 that use of the cafeteria at Golden Hills was approved.”

Good. Let the Satanic club start recruiting at the elementary.

You are a reasonably bright guy, and you are fully aware that the Satanic Temple is an entirely secular organization.
No, they are not trying to recruit children into worshiping an entity in which they do not even believe.
They are simply making a point under the first amendment. It seems a bit childish, but it is what it is.

thank you Hank for setting these rednecks straight.
You convey the progressive view better than most Socialists..
Again, without you anti racists and social advocates we would be in the dark ages.

Satanism makes more sense than trannyism. At least you get something out of it.

I knew a kid in HS who showed me his book on how to conjure Satan. He was gonna try it at midnight. I wished him good luck.
The next morning I asked him how the conjuring went.
Him: 'I didn't try it. I figured that if it failed I would be disappointed. But if I succeeded I might be a lot more disappointed. It was a lose-lose.'
I admired his logic.

Sounds like the Episcopal Church.

I'd be in favor of getting rid of all religious based clubs or allowing all of them. Picking and choosing your favorites and banning others doesn't seem very first amendment-ish.

This is why conservatism is gay

I would tend to agree, but the problem is that the gay mafia indoctrination will continue as they aren't "considered" a religion by the lefties. Why we are where we are today, though it is directly countering all major religions. Why its ok to have sex books in school libraries but not The Bible would bring the ACLU knocking.
So in todays environment, bring down all the Christina groups we can and let them whine about it.

But do the Satanists actually want children in their club? I thought unadulterated, unfettered hedonism was the appeal of Satanism. They're offering that to children?
Other religions, otoh, preach moral restraint. That's a valuable lesson for a child to learn. Unrestrained hedomism? Not so much

This is the issue. Agree or disagree, they win here.

Not if one is a moral relativist, and we have a few of those who post here.
