Is Desantis a neocon?

I am asking this in good faith, I didn't vote but supported Trump over Hillary and Biden because I thought he would do better on foreign policy. He spoke about getting out of wars during his first campaign. In the end he wasn't great but probably better than Hillary would have been and I don't think he would have supported this Ukraine nonsense.
Where does Desantis rank on this scale? Would he be better than Trump?

No. He is OG Freedom Caucus.
People throwing money at him to get him to run for president are neocons. They are desperate

Actually Trump was great on foreign policy. The best since Reagan.

Absolutely not!
He is a hard core conservative.
Just take a look at Florida....what do you see?
I rest my case.

I think he would be 100% neocon on foreign policy.
I don't think he would turn into an open borders guy and would try to stay true there.
Trade, I'm not sure. He might become a chamber of commerce stooge, it's hard to tell.

Trump was pretty good. He could have been better.

I don't think so.
But I was wrong about Rubio being a part of the establishment.

I agree.
All the deep pocketed “not Trump” money in the Republican Party will be landing on DeSantis if he should announce. Now whether this is a cause for concern is the main point of contention between the two camps.
Trump supporters say this is a sign that DeSantis will be coopted like the Tea Party. DeSantis supporters say that this is simply an outgrowth of Trump’s repeated tendencies to create conflict and drama where none is necessary.
Both seem to be reasonable concerns. Yet everything is speculation since DeSantis hasn’t even made an announcement about his decision, much less announced who will be managing his campaign or advising him on forming an administration.

George W Bush wasn't a neocon in 2000 either

The GOP in Congress will already lose on that issue before the 2024 election. Amnesty is coming.

Go ahead and enlighten us about how he could’ve improved

He is.
And, we need to be careful, bc they will try to push us into a Trump or Desantis corner. They are both our guys, and, just because you might choose the other one, we do not hate either.
It's easy to make a human fight against his own interests.

His Fla. governorship has been anything but neocon.
He is absolutely being groomed and cajoled by the neocon faction of the deep state.

China has had a running list, for years, of foreign politicians who they deem "unfriendly" to Chinese interests. Ron Desantis is noticeably absent from that list. Donald Trump is at the top.
Take that for what it's worth.

It’s a fair question… simply look into who supports him and where his money comes from.
Posted on 11/21/22 at 8:13 pm to justaniceguy
I don’t know if Ron would be a neocon or not but I can tell you with a high level of confidence that he will have the neocon support both financially and with votes.

Ron is a polished up politician and nothing has been clearer to me my entire life. He'll play the game, take the money, and we'll be back in some Middle Eastern shithole within 6 mos of his first year in office, getting American arms and legs blown off from some goat fricker's IEDs.

That deep state motherfricker!

I seem to recall him campaigning on “compassionate conservativism” and bringing more people into the party.
Doesn’t seem very MAGA to me.
