Maurepas swamp wma
42 degrees, partly cloudy with 6 mph north wind
Marlin 336 dirty thirty, 170 gr soft points
Mixed pine/hardwoods flat between power line and cypress swamp. Jumped a big racked buck about 100 yards north of where I’m sitting yesterday morning while returning to truck from a duck hunt. Can’t really tell how much visibility I have with this headlight, but should at least see 40 yards in most directions. Good luck to all out there today.

Hiked wayyyy back here. Never been back this far but it looks good on the map. We shall see when the sun comes up. I did see a few fresh scrapes on the hike in. I’m hunting mature bucks only now and haven’t really seen anything where I was hunting, so I needed to change it up.

Good luck boys

Same stand as yesterday looking over a frosty high line. Had a doe with 3 fawns come out just before dark yesterday.
Looking for horns this morning or a lone big doe. REB Jr is 700 yards down from me looking for his first of the year.

Good luck fellas!

With my 11yo. His birthday is today. He has missed the last two years. This year he is a much better marksman. We have seen 6 deer in 3 hunts this weekend. 1 mature doe, 3 yearlings doe, and 2 yearling bb. He is itching to pull the trigger but I’m trying to teach him to be a good hunter. I’m hoping a fat mature doe comes out for him.

Amite county here.
Laying low this morning and drinking coffee. I’ll take the kids behind the house this afternoon and try to get my daughter a deer.
Good luck

Son kilt a squirrel in the backyard before church with his pellet rifle

Nothing like adding a squirrel skinning to your morning routine before you out the door

They are a blessing and a curse. I was debating between two stands yesterday morning. Of course a shooter buck was posing right in front of the one I didn’t go to.

Salmon, I believe I hunt very near where you are in north Caddo as the crow flies. Things are starting to heat up for sure. Good luck

You could hear a pin drop this morning in Bay Springs, MS. Still as can be, and I’ve only heard one shot. Saw some does early and nothing since.

Ain’t seen nothing but red birds and one squirrel, and I wish I had a couple honey buns. One more hour and off to Waffle House, I’m starving.

Saw some deer. Didn't shoot them. Sitting in the camp wondering why I didn't shoot them.

Might go back and shoot them.

Haven't seen squat since yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon and early this morning was eerily quiet in the woods. Could've heard a mouse fart in England. We always have erratic movement this time of year though. Doesn't really get fired up until first or second week of December.

I’ve seen a 3 bucks this morning but they didn’t hang around long. Shot a hog at 6:30 this morning and have seen a few does. Things are heating up here.

Which cam do you use? I'm looking into them and keep coming back to the Moultrie Edge and Academy has a deal on them. Any recommendations?
