Fact is with the price and resources that a individual has to use to attend a game, you have to make the experience at the stadium as unique and as different in person vs on their couch as you can. This helps aid in that unique stadium experience.

The people that don't like the lights are also most likely "get off my lawn" types. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it and like I said the other day, it's for the kids. Recruits and players like it. Nothing else matters.
Nothing else matters? Really?

Because the 100,000 people in the stands pay for it all. They're the customers (and the viewers on TV, of course).

I'm against the LED lights only because it's just copying everyone else. Just like teams copied the "turnover chain", which is utterly absurd.

Do what we want, but don't be a lemming and follow everyone else, just because.

Nothing wrong with it at all, imo. I think it would be cool af. Recruits would love it. Not trying to be disrespectful, but the old heads are mostly stuck in their ways about everything. So any change is bad to them. At least that's what it seems like on this board, to me.

There are likely several other things that should be done to improve the gameday experience before adding fancy lights.

Agreed. Concourses and restrooms should be #1 bar none.

I don't think it adds any value to the stadium. Those light would have 0 impact on the last game experience.

The vast majority of that 100K will love the lights.

Also, being against the lights because everyone else has them is stupid. You said it yourself, do what you want. You think LSU is sitting here saying, "you know, we don't really want to do the lights...but we have to because everyone else has them."

They're going to eventually do the lights because it's a great enhancement to the atmosphere of the stadium.

The lights or the fact we don't have them?

the thought of even having them in Tiger Stadium

Or the fact that grown adults can't keep talking about it?

I'm telling ya -- kill the lights, pump some fireworks up and smoke the field and start Hendrix's Purple Haze as the team is about to emerge...

That shite would be insane

This is just a fad that will last for a few years then stadiums will stop doing it. 99% of the time it looks silly on TV.

LSU made a huge deal about their colored LEDs out of the stadium. Now they don’t bother doing that anymore.

LSU has an opportunity to amplify the atmosphere in the stadium.

For 2 out of 6 games that are at night. There are bigger issues to fix.

Who is paying you guys to incessantly post about stadium lights? There are probably 4 posts on this an hour.

Said old fart here. Explain what changes, over any period you choose, has been for the good? Now, for the worse. Compare each side. Which comes out ahead, changes that were for the good or changes for the worst? Which wins?

And that ladies and gents should be end of the thread. These gimmicks and piped in music is for the players and the guys they want to come. The fans in the stands are making noise for the product on the field.

The 3 monitors and the LED strips in the uppers are already enough to tint the stadium purple or gold. Also, why does the SEZ look smaller in that pic?

Have them go into "strobe" mode when the visiting team has the ball.

I’m good with it. I’m not offended or excited about the idea of LED lights. I just hope they are done right or this board is going to be filled with LED light threads.

We absolutely need it. Lsu/bama 2019 at bama was the coolest stadium experience I’ve had. Gotta stay up to date. Need a new sound system too. LSU’s sounds like shite compared to others
