He actually thinks people are going to pay for that shite?
Oh my.

From a development standpoint, there is zero reason to pay US wages. Why would you pay $180,000 for at work from home developer in the USA, when you can the same from across the Pacific for $50,000.
Same question slightly changed, Why would you pay $180,000 for an in office developer in the USA, when you can the same from across the Pacific for $50,000?

Are you including IS in your IT umbrella
No, this is a technical discussion.

Computer Systems Analysts, Business Analysts, Business Intelligence
I would classify those as all part of the business side. BA and BI people actually have value in the paperwork of making executives happy.
Computer Systems Analysts are the most basic of IT people. Pure entry level.

I’ve been a remote employee for 10+ years and I’m a GenX badass. Your comments are uninformed and fricking asinine.
So, it’s your view your employer shouldn’t use the buildings they’ve paid leases or construction costs on so you can be remote? You’re not very good at that thing they call business.
fricking millennial

I was hired as a remote employee and have never been assigned a desk nor office location. The sink costs associated with me were the laptop and mobile phone I was issued …and rarely travel. I’ve always been the bargain employee.

I don’t see why that can’t be done from anywhere in the world, but he is the boss.

I'll be curious to see if he can navigate this transitional period. Elite workers in tech aren't really used to being micromanaged. It will be interesting to watch.
Sometimes, brilliant minds need a fenced field to work in or they roam around endlessly and never as a cohesive group.

quote:Sure. Why not? I don't agree with $8 a month but a one-time fee for someone to verify that YOU are who you purport to be? That cost time and money by a Twitter employee AND Twitter resources to make that confirmation. That has value. He should charge a one-time $75-$100 fee. I mean, if you value your name and want people to know that your opinions and statements are actually from you, it's certainly cheaper than hiring a publicist.
He actually thinks people are going to pay for that shite?
