Interested to see who makes it but I'm just ready for the tournament as a whole. Going in with low expectations for the US but I think a number of teams can win the whole thing. :BartScott:

Rumors that Zach Steffan isn't in the squad. Saw some blue check marks tweeting it

If the rumors are true surprises are/could be:
- Steffen out
- Ream in
- 4 RBs in the squad
- Roldan in/Arreola out
- Tillman in

A really great SI article on the US youth movement

A group of U.S. players commandeered a van during the June camp in Cincinnati so they could introduce Tillman to Chick-fil-A.

It’s going to be Adams. Bet.
(ETA: Zimmerman is my backup)

Who are the right backs?
Yedlin, Cannon, Dest, Scally? Or does Shaq Moore come in for someone?
Latest rumor is Mark McKenzie is getting a spot.

I don't think Shaq is on the same level as Yedlin, let alone Scally, and Reggie is more versatile than him.

Would love it if it's at the expense of Long, would hate it if it's in favor of CCV, wouldn't really have an opinion if it's in place of Ream.
Here's hoping Long picked up a minor injury in the Frisco camp, just bad enough that he is taken out of World Cup contention.

The only rumor that I don’t like is that Arriola is getting left behind for Roldan. This means that de la Torre is likely out bc of injury but Arriola is a versatile player who has put in his work. And Tillman/Roldan are not worth it imo.

Ream and Tillman are in. Roldan is likely in.
Richards out due to injury. Cannon not selected.
Sargent, Ferreira, Pepi are the center forwards.
Potential surprise number 8 if Luca De la Torre can’t go due to injury, but if he is healthy he is in.

Does that mean that Roldan is the (not much) surprise 8?

Can't we still pull from the provisional squad after today if an injured player like Luca can't go?

You can make a change to the roster up until 24 hours before kickoff of your first match. I'm not sure how it works though considering there was no 30-man provisional roster like there has been in year's past. I guess you can just pick whoever, or maybe there will be a provisional roster released in addition to the 26-man roster.

I'll never understand his love for roldan. He had a great start to the season this year but he wasn't nearly as good overall for Seattle as past years, which again is just a good MLS player at best.

Pretty sure there was we just didn't make it public for some reason

Wales called up a bunch of sheepherders and a dude that can't even start in MLS.
