If storming the field continues to proliferate, sooner or later someone will be badly hurt or killed. That's probably what the SEC is leery of.

I saw there was discussion that the SEC is searching for ways to prevent the stormings next year. Not sure how they will accomplish that, but they will likely try.

The reason this was originally initiated by the SEC was due to an incident where someone was hurt. I think it was a basketball game but there have been serious injuries, possibly deaths but I cannot recall, at college football games in the past.

Yep, there will be a committee looking at that and part of it is increasing fines. I think the current fines were put in place in 2004. 250K seemed like a lot more money in 2004.
