Battered Fan Syndrome

A recently diagnosed physchological condition often experienced by LSU fans during “Bama Week”. Especially found in a cohort of fans who have lived through the entirety of both the Bear Bryant and Nick Saban eras at Alabama.

I assume you mean lived through as a fan. A person born the year Bear took over at Bama would be 64. If you assume 8-10 to be the age where you really could start being a meaningful fan of LSU that means 72 -74 or older fans.
Describe the symptoms of this syndrome. Just to have an idea if most fans that age exhibit any signs. Most of those that I know are pretty practical about all of this kind of stuff.

I’m the opposite. I have zero hope of ever beating Bama so I don’t even watch the games, except for 2019 when we had real hope. So I’ve spared myself much agony the past decade. I started this policy after the 2012 debacle.
