its nice to hear Tiger Stadium is still lauded as one of the greatest atmospheres in college football. We like to shite on it but it still makes the bucket list of many college football fans nationwide. 2019 had some great atmospheres I attended but hasn’t felt the same since Covid restrictions killed the crowds. Let’s bring back the TS mystique tomorrow!

Yeah it's a must see destination for a lot of fans. Our tailgate has met people from both Australia and now Germany who put a game in Tiger Stadium on their list when touring America. The Aussie's stayed in touch and 3 years later had friends taking a tour and gave them our number and told them to make it a stop on their trip which they did. A lot of our fans take it for granted.

I hope that one day, it will return to its former glory, but some things will need to change before that is even possible other than a select few games. One thing is damn certain, I'd hate to be a team coming here for the first playoff game played here.
Especially if they wear maize and blue.

Just read that and was coming here to post. Tiger stadium is a special place - we should 1) be proud as fans and 2) fight like hell to live up to the reputation.

As someone who grew up with zero relationship to LSU. My dad being a delusional pac 12 homer, I remember watching an LSU game when I was 8 years old and they showed an aerial view of TS, I instantly thought the stadium was godly. Fast forward 15 years, my job re-located me to Baton Rouge. Over the last few years it’s been so easy to adopt LSU over the team I grew up watching. I’ve been to tiger stadium multiple times now for games. Whenever I tell anyone from back home that I’m going to a game in Baton Rouge everyone thinks of it as a mythical place. Death Valley is a place that from an outsiders view will always be seen as the greatest college stadium above beaver stadium, Jordan hare, the big house, the horseshoe. Whatever you name it. I have so many friends of mine that get so jealous whenever I go to an LSU home game. It simply is the greatest stadium/atmosphere in sports. It will always been seen as a temple from everyone, including non lsu fans.

My dad and I were going to the game when we played Arizona when Tuitama was their QB and I remember this kid that was standing next to me in line who was talking to a visiting fan (I don't know from where but I remember they were going to their first game in Tiger Stadium) and I remember that kid saying,"You're about to enter THE best stadium in the country. You won't forget this experience."
I think he was around 24 years old or something.
I know it's not the gravity of playing Alabama or Georgia but it was still a great time and I can only imagine how it was for those first time visitors.
It's a special place. I always have to glance at it when I drive into BR and drive over the bridge.

It is a special place. I had a good friend that is an Ole Miss fan go to the game, he was blown away. Said he had never been to such an environment, it made him feel a certain way. He mentioned getting chills when Dan said it will soon be Saturday night in Death Valley.

Good read.
Never realized his name had an accent on the “e.” Feels like we’ve been saying his name wrong this whole time.

Being a military guy I have taken MANY people stationed at barksdale to games. Every time they are amazed. All of them thought they knew big time college crowds but walk away stunned.
100% say “that was intense, what’s that Bama game like?” I always respond 10 times more loud and crazy. Stunned silence followed by “how is that possible”.
Fans shite on the crowd a lot on here, but that place is and will always be the #1 atmosphere in all of sports.

Great article! I hope tonight the fans will hang around and replicate that old stadium, and we can get back to that standard
