Man, I’ve probably eaten izzos more than I compare to admit the last decade, but the range in quality is absolute shite from location to location in BR. And let’s not forget how stingy there are about protein quantities and the laugh of queso amount for a $14 burrito. Oh sure, give me a cup of cheese that I have to break my chips in half to even get a dip of.

Pisses me off

Sucks because when it’s good it’s good. They now have half scoops that fit 5 pieces of steak.

Such a shame. 2000's Izzos was the shite. I had a friend I was visiting in Dallas and he was raving about Chipotle around 2005. I told him that it sounds like what Izzo's does and he had never heard of it of course. I went to Chipotle with him and needless to say, their burrito was dogshit compared to Izzo's steak.

The location on burbank had a special on halloween one year that allowed you to get any burrito 50% off if you wear your costume. I threw on some shite I had in the closet and got my first illegal burrito. I couldn't believe how big it was (TWSS) and I ate on that thing for probably 3 meals.

I went in the corporate location a couple weeks back and the smell was horrendous. Like burnt chicken mixed with Fabuloso.

Lit Pizza is the same way.
Quality is terrible location to location.
But he had to roll them out as quick as possible to head off any competitors.

They may be cutting back due to the cost of ingredients right now as well, but usually when they do that they keep doing it to improve their bottom line.

That used to be the best one in town. Bluebonnet location didn’t even have any grilled onions today

Bluebonnet location

I used to eat there weekly. Then I changed jobs and didn't eat there for years. Recently changed jobs again, bringing me back closer to this location, so I rolled the dice and tried it.

When I walked in the door and saw that the place looked like it had been ransacked, I should've left. But I didn't. When I made it up to the counter and saw how disgusting the food prep area was, I should've left. But I didn't.

I took my shitty order to go and went back to the office. Of course, it was inedible. Everything tasted like it had been sitting in a cooler for two days and reheated in a microwave. The memories of just how good Izzo's used to be just made the experience that much more terrible. Lesson learned...

Yeah man. Izzos was the first burrito place if it’s kind that I ever had been to. I loved it for years and when I moved to Texas one of the first things I did was to find a place similar. I love all the choices that chipotle doesn’t give you. Sucks to hear that it had gone downhill.

i do see some decline, but i don't think its drastically different. far from crying about.

they are still by far the best burrito to get by a mile. i at qdoba last week while out of town....that was dog shite.

edit: i should mention i eat at the Metairie location. maybe its different.

I went to one when I was working in Hammond a couple years ago and the mushrooms were so salty that it was uneatable. And the chicken was burnt. Im not even one to generally complain about a place, but I went up and asked the girl working there to try the mushrooms and the chicken. She complied and immediately threw away both items and made me something else. It was laughable how bad it was.

Agree. Izzos has gone down across the board, especially in the cleanliness of the stores. I mean jfc clean up some of the food just all over the counter. It looks disgusting for the next people ordering.

Using the scoop is ok for some ingredients because they would stick to the gloves and you would have stuff in the wrong container. It is lame as hell though when theyre basically measuring it like theyre making a fancy cocktail.

The amount of cheese they give you for the meal is downright laughable. Its good for about 8-10 chips and I have to throw away the other 40 because they dont have salsa out on the condiment bar.

The manager at the lsu location has been there forever and he keeps the place going when he is there. When he isnt there, those people dont give a shite. The new bluebonnet location is hit or miss. The corporate location is garbage, westbank location garbage, off of vets garbage.

Now to the customers, they suck the most. Get off your phone and ordder your food, youre in a line with people behind you. Clean up your table somewhat at least. Your kids are disgusting and making a mess. No one seems to know how the drink machine with the buttons worked, but they seem to have gotten rid of all of them thank god.

Ill probably be there Monday

El Pollo Loco is really good since they reopened, and are cheaper than Izzo’s. Good substitute, check it out.

It's usually the fatass soy looking employees that are stingy with the steak. When I see a drugged out crackhead working, they always hook it up never fails
