I saw a Joseph play quarterback at Marrero Shaw in about 1997 or 1998 one Friday night, hell of a good QB - was that his brother or cousin?

That was either Mickey or his younger brother Vance, depending on the year

I listen to Greg McElroys morning show every day. Earlier this week he said he’s friends with someone that knows Rhule very well he’s not in any hurry to jump back and is leaning towards taking a year off.

He and his wife are from the north east and eventually that’s where they want to end up.

Read: He's waiting for Penn State to get tired of James Franklin's inability to develop a QB.

I wonder if the offset language requires him to seek employment

Twitter

Reasonably reputable Husker Twitter says it’s Joseph.

There were reports that Trev Alberts was talking to coaches, media, agents, etc. to gauge opinions on the Nebraska job.

If Joseph is really his guy (and I'm not convinced he is yet), he must've gotten some pretty damning feedback about the perceived state of the program.

Maybe Mickey got his buddy Ponamsky to whip him up a binder.

I’m as big a Nebraska fan as there is, and I’m 100% certain that Mickey Joseph will not be the new head coach. In addition, there is no stipulation in his contract that says he must be retained. The stipulation states that if he’s not retained, he will receive a 2-year buyout based on his previous salary. That said, I think there’s a very good chance the he's retained as associate head coach/WRs/director of recruiting.

The names circulating are Matt Rhule, Gary Patterson, Chris Petersen, Dave Aranda, Lane Kiffin, and Jeff Monken. I’ll be shocked if it’s not one of those. Rhule currently has the most buzz, as it was reported that Auburn was interested in him but it was leaked that he was tied to Nebraska. Auburn’s 247 also reported that Trev Alberts is deep in discussions with Rhule. Rhule would be a home run hire, no doubt.

What exactly has led people to believe that Sanders is a good coach?
go look at Jackson St’s record pre and post sanders and tell me what’s led you to believe he isn’t.

I get jumping from Jackson St to Nebraska/Auburn/etc. is a hell of a jump and may be a bit much but he could probably handle it.

I think it’s Paul Chryst. I’ve always had respect and use to like The Big Red Machine, I think the only way for Nebraska to come back and really work is going to a traditional offense. Look what Chryst did at Wisconsin. He had them competing year in and year out with three stars. Also look at Michigan JH runs a traditional offense. Nebraska has tried the spread and didn’t work. PC can recruit big OL and great RBs. He put a few in the league when at Wisconsin. And he always had a good QB. He’s my bet. Good luck to y’all.

Rhule at Baylor (coming off the Art Briles scandals) >>> Chryst taking over a successful program at Wisconsin

Man I don’t know. They can do better than Chryst.

He took over a 11-3 team so has never done a rebuild

Plus I listened to a podcast after he was fired about how dysfunctional that program had become and he had run it into the ground

They can do much better
