I think there was more under the hood that was going on if you get what I mean.
I believe that Wade was the sacrifice for the potential football issues they were dangling out there.
The NCAA hated/hates Wade for some reason. Maybe its the NCAAs perception that Wade gives them the middle finger. But it's that attitude that Wade fights for his kids and school is the reason fans love him. It's probably also the same reason the NCAA hates him.
But you are right, regardless of the reasons the NCAA wanted Wade out it's becoming more and more obvious that there was a quid pro quo between Woodward and the NCAA. You give us Wade and we will let all these accusations die on the vine.

I think you guys might be overlooking these are self-imposed. KU is still expecting penalties to be handed down after this season from the NCAA, they are just hoping to lighten what they're given.
That being said, if the NCAA doesn't add anything on top of this then it 100% proves LSU overreacted with Wade.

A month into the season, you'll not remember Wade. It's going to be a better program.

Oh look Roger is shitting Wade. May be effective if you didn’t also shite on him when he had a top 20 team.

They better be careful or the ncaa will warn them that they may give them a year of probation

LSU is better off without Wade.

Wade took a team that was going nowhere and turned it into a perennial ncaa tourney team in a conference getting better and better
I just wish Wade would go scorched earth on all the other schools that are getting off scot free

Good point - I think some may be missing that.

I would not be at all surprised.
Look, I loved WW and wish he were still here - but he certainly did not help his cause. My issue was and still is the blatant hypocrisy and double standard he was treated with by Dick/Forde et al in comparison to Kansas and Duke.
We already know the NCAA will do nothing to Duke despite tangible evidence that everyone knows about but Dick and Pat won't talk about. And if they do something like take away one schollie for next year on top of what Kansas self-imposed...which would not surprise me, it will mean they are no better than Dick/Pat.

It's not so much what they did to Wade it was the timing. They (Woodward in collusion with the NCAA) screwed over the kids during tournament time.
Woodward could have easily fired Wade a week or two later.
The way the whole Will Wade thing has gone down (multiple times screwing over our players tournament runs) has completely turned me off on the basketball program. Really dont care at this point.

I 100% agree. Dickie is awfully biased and went hard on Will and ignored Pitino/KU. Forde isn't the same because he's a Mizzou grad. He spent all March/April talking about how the commentators weren't talking about the KU allegations. He did have weirdly timed articles about Wade, though.
I would be frustrated as an LSU fan because the national media definitely went harder on Wade than they did anyone else. It was hilariously biased, and I don't understand why not a single one of their colleagues felt like they could call them out.

I hope you are right but there is very little to objectively base this statement on yet.
It usually starts here:
When it comes to college athletics the 80/20 rule applies. 80% is the jimmies and joes and 20% is the coaching. If you can't nail down the 80% there is nothing you can do on the coaching end to have a successful program. This is where Will Wade had success. He was a very good recruiter and made LSU basketball relevant because of his recruiting abilities. Wade's classes ranked 19, 4, 32, 5 and 8 in the nation under his coaching career at LSU. Heck it's why bama is so successful. Sabin is the best recruiter in college football.
CMM needs to step up his game in recruiting for this LSU basketball program under Woodward to be successful. I have no qualms about CMM coaching ability. He seems perfectly capable. But it starts with recruiting. Without recruiting this program is dead in the water.
Now the way CMM cobbled together the current roster does give me hope that he and his team can be effective on the recruiting trail. He just has to make it happen in the coming months.

And run the risk of Wade taking the team to the sweet 16 or beyond? I don’t think so. Too much risk to make an unpopular move that much worse.
Woodward handled it like a douche and got rid of Wade, which is what he wanted and blowback more controlled by preventing a deep run and Wade cementing his position to LSU.
I like the new hire. Looking forward to next week. Can’t wait to watch Adam Miller ball.
Not a fan of LSU AD across the board about how they handled Wade. Woodward as much of a douche coward as Alleva. I hope Woodward is booed hardcore at an lsu b-ball game too.
