It's pretty mind blowing that we were unranked 10 days ago...

...and now we are #10!!! That's a herculean jump. Mind boggling. But hell, I'll take it.

Almost like the committee positioned themselves to not look bad if/when LSU waxes that arse.

I feel like it’s more to make bama look better if they beat us. But I’ll take it regardless

Don't care. Win and LSU moves up quicker.

It really blows your mind that they wanted a top ten match up for tv ratings?

I thought the highest we would be ranked was 14. Top 10 signals to me that the committee feels we are 100% deserving of being in the cfp if we win out. Tough ask, but the respect this late in the season is nice.

You do know why we are ranked 10 right?
Who wants to tell him?

This board will become well-nigh irreadable for the rest of the season, if that happens.

LSU handed Ole Miss, ranked No. 11, its lone loss with a 45-20 victory two weeks ago. And the Tigers won at Mississippi State.

It was a good win for us, but it was actually in Baton Rouge.

Probably so they can promote a top 10 matchup

When LSU moves, you need to know they move quick. They slice like a goddamn hammer.

I think it’s more to boost tv ratings for our game Saturday. A prime time game featuring 2 top 10 teams is more appealing than a 6vs15 matchup. Esp since all the other games espn is carrying this weekend suck. But I’ll take the ranking nonetheless.

I know what you are getting at, but I don't believe that to be the case. The committee took a look at the teams they ranked behind us like Illinois, UCLA, and Utah and decided that those teams don't beat LSU on a neutral field which I think is a pretty fair assessment based on the way we appear to be playing now. This isn't the BCS system, the committee's job is to rank the best teams and when you look at the list it is hard to argue that they didn't do that based on results up to this point.

What if it’s as simple as the committee throwing out the existing rankings/narratives and looking fresh at each teams body-of-work? Look at the teams around us. Any teams behind us that should be ranked ahead of us? I don’t think so. Likewise for teams in front.
