Rest of the world realizing how bad Gary is

I think people bitch way too much about color commentators. As long as they are getting names wrong or saying really terrible things they're good enough for me.

His “holier than thou” attitude is annoying.
At the end of the LSU/OM game when we sacked Dart the final time, instead of commenting on our dominant D line, his immediate reaction was, “well I just hope he’s not injured, cause that would be a shame.”
Basically insinuating that we should’ve lightened up the pass rush late in the game in order to save their QB from a possible injury.

Gary slobs Alambama, but the guy knows his stuff. Very smart football mind and he calls plays before they happen all the time.
Now if they could get Nessler and Blakcledge in a booth together, that would be the top duo.

I take it the opposite. A slight against Kiffin for having Dart in there and still dropping him back to pass.
Btw, I was on the field before the game and so was Gary D for a while. He is a big man.

Gary used to be fine back in the mid 00's before Bama started dominating, he saved the broadcast when Verne was absolute dogshit to listen to. My question is how do you be that so non self aware and why doesn't somebody at CBS fix it, and most of all why do you feel the need to announce like he does in the first place? There are 13 other teams in the SEC, why would you alienate them?

He does these things all the time. Constantly mis calls plays being reviewed or penalties. Gets names wrong a ton, and then there was the times he said ten times that Tebow was calling LSU "paper tigers" when he was obviously making the cell phone gesture.

Danielson is now and has always been the best in the business. People that throw rocks at him have never strapped on a helmet in their life.

Gary knows and is able to quickly and intelligently explain football. His Bama love is annoying, but he almost always adds value.

I actually like Gary. He’s super knowledgeable, once you get past his annoying “woman that sounds kind of like a man” voice.
I don’t think he’s biased against LSU, I just think that’s this board’s inferiority complex.

Never seen anything like it with the amount of people complaining about commentators. I mean seriously how often are you hanging on every word you know if he is that good or bad. It's Hilarious

Dude, he doesn’t just show up on Saturday and shoot from the hip.
The teams/coaches give the announcers inside information tidbits to use during the broadcast from interviews during the week. There’s a big production meeting on Friday where he gets fed a bunch of info from the stat guys and a “script” of relevant player knowledge and heart-warming story bullshite. Then he’s got a freakin earpiece in so they can shovel him more horseshite to say on gameday.
He knows football, but he doesn’t cook up all that shite on his own in the moment. He’s not Ron Burgundy, but damn! Wake up. CBS pays a lot of money for the rights to run SEC games. Danielson is just familiar, like a hot girlfriend that got fat and went psycho, and you’re just keeping her around because you’re too lazy to go through the process of finding a new one.
