Sitting up against a big swamp chestnut oak. .22 WMR. Waiting for it to get daylight so I can start slipping for hogs.

I should have went after pigs too, maybe Sunday morning after the Saturday deluge. Hoping you poke some pork today.

Had horns at 50-60 yds thru a thicket at 7:30 on the edge of oaks. Couldnt get a good look and he turned before he would have been out in the open.

For 30 yrs I hunted north of there near Union Church. Never saw a single pig.

Saw 8 pre season. There isnt a ton of sign but up until a few years ago I'd never seen one

Trying to deer hunt in the bear sanctuary known as Madison Parish.
I was in a 8’ tripod yesterday due to no tree to climb. Had a big melon head boar 5 yards behind me right at dark. Probably the same Bear that ran off the deer in front of me the day before.

Trying to catch something feeding before bedding down for this storm coming through. No luck so far.
I’ve slipped off of work a little early 3 days this week and haven’t seen a deer. Not sure what’s up but it’s been a much slower start to the season than last year.
