From @geauxldmike:
“National headlines during LSU’s historic signing of Brian Kelly:
-Accent
-Bad fit
-Dance moves
-Marcus Freeman >
-Can’t recruit
Not one media outlet wanted to acknowledge the enormity of the hire for LSU.
One of the absolute biggest wiffs in modern “journalism.”
He hit the nail on the head here. LSU secured one of the nations top 5 coaches giving him access to top 5 recruiting classes. We’re off and rolling and it’s gonna be a REAL fun future

Saban would’ve resurrected a sleeping giant here if it weren’t for that pesky nfl question he wanted to answer. In a way we owe a lot of our subsequent successes to the foundation he laid, but I believe Kelly will establish the dynasty Saban orphaned. Despite what’s come to pass during his time at Alabama, I also believe there is a part of him that wishes he never left. Bygones being bygones he better be getting ready to pass the torch of SEC dominance to CBK because we comin.

frick Saban
Go root for Alabama
We don’t owe that SOB nothing, he’s been gone for about 15 years- any foundation he build has long been gone, if you don’t think he would frick LSU over today you very wrong my friend.

Can LSU amass even more talent than Bama has been able to?

That always works. See Ass2Mouth.

We don’t have an Auburn in state to contend with. Louisiana produces elite talent, the foundation is there if we simply recruit well at home. It’s a desirable situation already but you get some organizational structure from a coach like saban or Kelly and it can become formidable. On the other hand if you put king doofus in charge the advantage is largely wasted.

Alabama has been cherry picking the ELITE talent NATIONALLY for a decade.

LSU isn’t where it is today without Saban. To think otherwise is just downright ignorant.

Saban has said in multiple interviews over the years that his biggest regret in his career was leaving lsu for the nfl.

Google reading comprehension. You need it.

I don’t understand this. Saban has been getting elite talent away from La. For all but a few years he’s been gone.
Tell me what he built here?

He built a winning program that has stayed in contention for the last two decades despite some questionable coaching.

that's all going to change now, thanks to NIL and BK.

I am glad Saban was here for awhile. I’ll never forget his championship season. I wish he’d stayed.
But after 15 years he’s been gone and getting a ton of talent to go with him, I think he gets too Much credit for what we are now.

Two national champ coaches.

You’re missing the point. Saban doesn’t get credit for our recent successes, but he laid the foundation and resurrected the program which allowed this 20+ year run.
