Hard to opine, without the facts.

Prog judges aren’t judges. They are activists in a judge gown.

Is it Federal charges? It doesn’t appear to be.

Yea, I’m pretty sure they were arrested on State charges. I believe they were misdemeanor charges as well.

HOUMA, La. (WVUE) - Two high school students have been arrested and accused of hate crimes after video circulated on social media of them using racial slurs on campus.
The two unidentified Terrebonne High School students face charges of inciting a riot, hate crimes, and cyberbullying.
In the video, the students are heard repeatedly using the n-word and making racially motivated statements about several African American students.
Superintendent Bubba Orgeron says the video displays despicable language and thoughts.
“This type of behavior and disgusting display of content will never be tolerated by our school system,” Orgeron said in a statement.
Houma police say the investigation is ongoing.

A hate crime is a federal crime

Thank you. Not everyone visits the OT or lives in south Louisiana.

Well, you can be charged federally with a hate crime, yes.
But every State has their own hate crime laws as well…..
In the case of the 2 students, they were not charged federally….yet

quote:Not necessarily. Louisiana enacted “hate crime” legislation in 1997. The fact that the arrests were made by local police (not federal law enforcement), indicates that these are state charges.
A hate crime is a federal crime
As to the OP, It appears that the women have not even yet been charged with anything. They were given the option of “house arrest” while the charging decisions are being made.
It is simply a form of pre-trial release for persons who have not yet been convicted of a crime. One would think that the high school students would be eligible for similar treatment, though it is far more likely that they will simply be released pending trial on a small bail, which is far less restrictive.
As to the Houma kids, your legislature (in its infinite wisdom) chose to enact hate crime legislation. These kids (arguably) violated those statutes, and they have been charged accordingly.

should be a disqualification for voting -
IF you claim you know NOTHING about things like = antifa riots, trump hoaxes, Biden corruption, facts about RvW, attacks on Kavanaugh, Jan 6 protests at capitol, election irregularities, etc => then you are not qualified to cast a vote because you are either mentally incompetent or morally traitorous liar.
