Those are the kind of stats I choose to believe in.

CBK was hired because of this stat. LSU was horrible after the bye weeks.

Was that alluded to publicly or just saying because it makes sense?

That’s mostly because we always have a bye week before playing Bama.

That’s because LSU was horrible against Bama.

This is a decent point, but ND had quite a few of those before USC — not Bama but not a cupcake.

Most teams rotate their bye every now and again.

Then there’s the stat on Kelly picking up the elusive top 10 W in 8 weeks at LSU. Team has a lot of confidence & Bama is mortal this year (as with many years).

Maybe it was 1 of the reasons he was hired

Well, other than the covid year, LSU has played Bama after the bye every year since 2010. In 2009 we played Auburn after the bye. Kinda tough to rack up a good record after the bye when that's the team you play every year coming off of it, BK surely wasn't playing a Bama type team every year at ND off the bye. Would love to see the list of teams in this category

It is good to see that he had his teams prepared at least coming off of bye weeks.

Pretty meaningless without knowing the opponents and scores

I count Ls in 2011 (USC) and 2019 (Michigan). Still an impressive record against some pretty good teams.

LSU, unlike most other SEC teams (save Bama, Florida and Georgia), does not ever have a bye-week advantage in their scheduling. So we'll never see how the Tigers perform after a true "bye week", such as Tennessee enjoyed before playing LSU, or Kentucky this week with their bye-week advantage before facing Tennessee on the road.

2 more years and Bama after a bye might not be a thing anymore.
