I was a student and I was on the field, one of my best college memories. Left the stadium with a pylon and took it to Fred's where it was promptly lost

I was not there but that game was intense. It felt like at any point they would break out but it got later and later into the game.
It also felt like they had 4 possessions in the last 5 minutes

First of all frick the dodgers, secondly we should never storm the field idc we are the team that others are supposed to storm the field when they beat us, not the other way around.

It was also just a few weeks after Katy Perry went on College Gameday & made her corn dog comments before Ole Miss went on to beat Bama.
We had a special hate for Ole Miss that year & at that point in the season, they were a bigger win than Bama.

Because it is fun.
But yeah, we should not have made such a big deal out of it. It was just Ole Miss after all.

Students who never got to rush the field saw an opportunity.
I can’t talk shite. I rushed the field like 3 times as a student 2000-2001.

I think it’s because we ruined their “epic season” that year and because of how it ended. Wasn’t that the Bo Wallace interception where he walked off the field before the game was over?

So embarrassing let’s not bring it up

i was one of those students on the field. wouldn't change a thing.
Same. Whatever. Boomers can whine about it if they want. It was one of the most fun football games of my student career. You only get to do that once or twice during your time there and obviously we all got laid that night.

I think if the game was a blowout or LSU easily controlled the game it may not have happened. But because there was this monumental tension that built throughout such a close game with an undefeated and top 3 Ole Miss team, the end result was an explosion of happiness and relief climaxing into a field rush.
- Signed, a 2014 freshman student who thought rushing for Ole Miss was beneath us, but glady went down and walked home with a pocket full of turf.

Both teams were ranked and we’re the bigger program
At that time, we were not. They were essentially above Bama at that point after they beat them 23-17 3 weeks earlier & #14 A&M the next week.
This was also the year that Miss St was ranked #1, so just toss it up as a weird year in the SEC.

No one "ran" onto the field. It was more of a saunter onto the field slowly cause it was a top ten opponent I think.
Not true. No one sauntered slowly onto the field.

Nothin rowdy about it tho.
Wrong again. It was VERY rowdy. One of the loudest games start to finish that I can recall. You could literally feel the hate raining down from the stands People screamed nonstop. I think it's the first time I had seen that since the Bama loss in 2012.
It was perfect fall night for football too. Cool and crisp. We don't get those too often anymore.

I remember being there and how packed it was and it being a big game, but still
Because students are students and they don’t care about tradition or not. It was a win over a top ranked team.
Once the students rushed, everyone else followed

You want the honest truth? It was 2014. We had Anthony Jennings as our QB. The program under Les had been stale. We had not accomplished anything worthwhile since 2011. The fans were bored to death and needed something to get excited about. In hindsight very embarrassing.
Now the Georgia 2018 game, that was worth rushing the field.

shite was embarrassing
50% of the students at that game were at their first big game. They don’t know anything about the rivalry or the “pecking order” of CFB.
