- Zion was pretty rusty. I think he'll get his magic touch around the basket back with enough game time, I just don't know how long it will take.
- Trey will be as impactful for the Pels this year as Herb was last year. He's a solid secondary defender and rebounder, and oh yeah, he's also an elite long range sniper that can take it to the basket too.
- Dyson will be as impactful for the Pels this year as Jose was last year.
- This team is deep and can survive injuries to one or more of the big 3 better than most would think. They may not replace the points, but if any of CJ/BI/Zion go down, the guys getting more minutes are high motor defensive guys. They'll lean into the defense and make it work.

Sons, I am excite!

The way willie and co are coaching these guys, I honestly don’t dislike anyone on the team to see the floor…besides temple. He can stay player coaching Everyone else has shown flashes on the back end. Guys truly seem to be having fun and just play well together. So much firepower on offense. Team is gonna be really fun to watch.

- CJ will be playing into shape during live fire
- Trey I hope will carry this huge jump over to real games
- BI looks like BI
- JV looked the most fluid tonight of any of the pre season games he played in which is great
- Herb clearly has added a shot to his game. Still needs some work
- Zion will be fine.

Obviously the starters are:

CJ
Herb
BI
Zion
JV

However I think CJ comes off the floor first for Trey and you get 3-4 minutes with:

Herb
BI
Trey
Zion
JV

And then I think you follow through with the Bench:

Dyson
Jose
Trey
Larry

I genuinely believe you just tack on the minutes you were going to give Jaxson to Trey and see how that works.

My main take away is I'm now looking forward to our bench minutes. We are going to have some massive talent advantages against opponents 6-11 on the roster. We're going to blow some people out when our starters start hot

My preseason take away, is that this team is better and deeper than the team that won 2 play-in games and took Phoenix to 6 games last year. What more could you ask for? Zion returning is icing on the cake.

It's gonna be a good year sons

We are getting Victor Wembanyama and this will be the most lopsided trade in history.

Random takeaway. Larry Nance is legitimately good. We saw some of that in the playoffs with his defense and rebounding. But he was kind of rusty offensively. He looked very fluid to me in preseason and just very comfortable overall. His shot also looks smoother and more reliable.

He gets guys in the right spots and actions, has a nice pick and roll game w Jose, and is the type of heady player that can run read and react impromptu type 2-3 man actions on offense. Jose and Nance are a dynamic duo on our bench, because they are both incredibly high basketball IQ players that will often be facing off against young guns on other teams that have no idea how to play winning basketball.

Larry Nance is a very solid player when healthy. He might be a top 3 plus/minus guy on our entire team this season. And that’s just his on the floor contribution. I think he is even more valuable off the court and in the locker room. He’s basically like a more outspoken Temple, that can play winning basketball.

I saw a lot of improvement from Naji on the offensive end. If he can carry that over to the regular season, all of a sudden the pels have a legit physical stopper who can score at different levels. Scary. Game changing scary.

Some stats to back it up why not:

He shot 52% from the field and 36% from 3
His career average is 40% from the field and 27% from 3

Herb has progressed and will surprise again. I know he airballed a 3pter last night and badly missed on another in another game but this will improve. He's inserting himself into the offense and his cutting and slashing has looked great. That pull up jumper in lane is everything Zion needs to take note of and implement.

Someone already hit on this but, I’m just as, if not more, excited to watch the bench play this year.

I’m sorry, the Second Line*

I legit get more excited when I see Jose, trey, Larry, Jaxon (rip), and DD coming in. The play style changes so much and I feel like we’ll piss of more teams with them in.

I think WG, by design, has played things close to the vest in the pre-season but oh man does this team have options. Still young, but easily one of the most versatile teams in the league. Arguably only Jonas and Jose are limited to one position. I am really looking forward to see how WG is able to play his hand this year, if the Pels can get Hayes back healthy he has a counter for anything that is thrown at them. With Zion and BI as cornerstones Pels can:

Pound teams with big lineups (Val-Hayes-Billy combo)
Run teams out the gym with greyhound lineups (Kira, Hayes/Nance, Herb)
Shoot teams out the gym with marksmen (Graham-TM3-CJ)
Suffocate teams with D from (Jose, Daniels, Herb)

I believe a priority will be to get off to a good start (close to .600) and over the course of the season provide rest and limit minutes by rolling out 10-11 deep rotations. After the All Start Break, Pels will tighten up the rotation and let the natural pecking order evolve. I saw in another post questions on if the Pels can contend for the West title this year. I'd counter it'd be a disappointment if they don't.
