Talking Commander’s Palace, Galatoires, Antoine’s, Clancys, etc.

What do these guys usually take home a week.

The key is only admitting to half your tip money on any IRS forms.

I used to be friends w/ a waiter at Galatoire’s who pulled down around $125k a year, all in.

Of course, he’d been there forever. And that’s the key. You build relationships with high rollers.

I had a friend working at one of those during the mid-90's after college. She was making something like $50k-$75k a year and not even working a full 40-hour week.

She left that to pursue her dream of being a teacher.

The ones that have been around the longest get the best shifts, have the most "call parties" (diners who ask for them specifically) and make the most money.

Half what they actually tell. They all say they make 100k a year, but they dont live like they make six figures. Every waiter/waitress i have ever meet has greatly exaggerated how much they make. They’ll tell you their best week and act like they make that consistently every week!

Right. There are only so many weekend shifts available. They aren’t making as much on a Tuesday lunch shift.

Not saying it’s the case here, but there are plenty of people clearing six digits that live a very modest lifestyle.

You would be surprised. The guys eating a place like that for lunch on Tuesday have way more money than the weekend goer and your tips could be considerably better per table.

Dude, $100k is not a lot of money.....

How is a person that makes $100k a year supposed to live?

That baw that works offshore, works on a tugboat in the river, that welder in a plant, even the baw that climbs powerlines can all make over $100k and you'd never know
