Is there a country artist that is more throwback to true country than this new artist?

Even his name screams country. Jelly Roll

Just saw him come up in my truck on the console when listening to Sirius

I’m just glad legends like Merl, George, and Johnny didn’t live long enough to see what’s become of country music.

You know what's worse than a face tattoo?

Multiple face tattoos.

What on Earth would possess you to get one? Future job professions are pretty limited once you decide that you just have to get that tear drop or cross permanently etched on your face.

And that’s fine. All music has evolution

Waylon, Willie, and Merle are nothing like country music from the early 1900s

But this shite in the OP is a bridge too far

I can’t recall their names, but my son (he’s a 20 yr old college kid) is really into what I think he calls “underground” country. Sounds to me like what we use to call “Outlaw” country. He’s got a playlist on his Apple Music of several young country performers that play good, old-school style county music. They, of course, get zero playtime on mainstream country stations that I know of. But, and this gives me hope, these young guys are putting out some really good music. And from what I’ve seen, they’re very popular among my son’s friend group at Auburn.
