My sister-in-law decided that Saturday afternoon would be a great time to get married. Wedding starts at 2 pm. Wife is pissed that I don't want to go. Any advice from the O-T Lounge? I gotta watch my tigers this weekend

By 2 pm we’ll be down 35-7 so you’ll want to turn it off anyway

How badly do you want to stay married? I mean, if you're looking for an exit strategy, this is it.

Just blow it off. I can’t imagine there would be any serious repercussions.

Then watch it?

It will be nearly over by 2.

Stop watching football for a little while and you will realize how insignificant that shite is.

I get it.

Because there is something about planning a fall wedding by itself that pisses me off.

Like how much of a bitch do you have to be to plan a wedding on a home weekend of lsu football.

That’s being a cvnt

My wife scheduled our daughters first birthday for 11 am this Saturday. The exact time my razorbacks and Mississippi state kickoff. I told her to move it and she gave me this horrible look and said she can’t because she’s already sent out the invitations. I don’t see what the big deal is but she’s been pissed at me the last 36 hours so I know where your coming from

I missed my wife's cousin's wedding for the 2009 LSU-GA game. I straight up refused to go to the wedding and made it clear there would be no conversation. You can't negotiate with terrorists.

The cousin was divorced a couple years later so I made the right call.

It’s one fricking game that lsu will probably lose. Go to wedding, act happy to be there, make wife happy, and then get some good good that evening. Not that difficult to do. Unless you have kids and want out and feel like paying child support.

My niece was married several years ago in the Fall.

She specifically looked for a date Tennessee had an off week. Her words, "I knew half my family wouldn't be there wouldn't be there if I scheduled it on game day."

There is a standing rule in our family. You do not get married or buried on game day. Not even joking.

I have a funeral this weekend that starts at 11am - when the red river shootout takes place. I am upset about the timing for sure…

Lucky for you the game is on ESPN so you can get the ESPN app on your phone and pay 9.99 for one month and still watch the game (or log in with your cable credentials and stream it that way without paying extra, but attempt this ahead of time to figure it out) and try not to shout expletives. It'll drain the shite out of your battery though, so bring a charger and adapter with you. You'll probably end up with some other people huddled around you. You won't be the only one.
