Has HBO gone anti-woke with HotD, they seem to imply gay is not ok.

Talking about show here and nothing within the book.
While gay is OK, it is going to cause a lot of innocent people to die or lose an eye.
Essentially if Laenor was able to perform with a woman and produce hiers, Aemond would not need a patch and Aegon could go back to what he loves doing in the window. Alicent would just need to shutup and be a queen.
His homosexuality has caused the Velaryon family pain, although they accepted him as he was.
It is like they are saying gay is not OK.

His family was pretty accepting of him. Letting them believe he was burned alive was way more fricked up then the gay thing. I guess that was mostly for Rhaenyra so I'm not gonna knock it but i felt bad for the parents.

Pretty sure it's just a plot point they can work around.
Not much difference in this particular scenario than saying the person is impotent - if you can't get it up because you physically can't or because you're not attracted to women at all, the outcome is the same - no heir.

Setting aside the overall stupidity of this thread, the contention at hand has nothing to do with Rhaenyra's heirs. The argument is that Rhaenyra herself should not be allowed the throne cause she is a woman. Children be damned.
Her children being bastards is just trying to create an emotional case that she is unfit to lead and drive a wedge.
Of course the even more real reason is because Alicent is a jealous bitch that can't accept Rhaenyra fricks.

I think the fact that they didn't kill him off is showing that they are pro-gay, because they probably avoided doing that as to not appear that they just kill off every gay character in the show
