With all due respect to our Badger brethren, should the expected standard really be higher than that?
With the exception of of Ohio State, it's not like anybody else in the Big Ten is consistently competing for national championships. That was an expectation for Les based on LSU's recent history, so 9-3 wasn't good enough.
No one is expecting to be in the NC conversation every year.
They haven't won the west B1G West since 2019 and lose to teams they shouldn't quite often while never, ever, winning as an underdog.
The team quit. He had to go.

To add, supposedly there was a "nasty" players only meeting yesterday.
Jimmy needs to bring the team back together.

What the frick is Auburn waiting on?
They don't want the interim to start off getting embarrassed by UGA by 40.

Was Mertz invited?

I can't even disagree with this. In fact, I kind of admire the balls to make this move and aspire to something greater. You guys haven't fired a coach since Don Morton.
Still, what's the acceptable standard then? If no one is expecting national championships, but you're upset about losing to teams you shouldn't and want wins as an underdog, then where does that leave you?

Colorado should consider him. Even if he just gets them to the 6-6 level he was doing at Pitt it's a step up.

No one was going to UW for Chyrst anyway. Leonhard and Bobby April 3 were doing the heavy lifting
Leonhard to HC
April 3 DC
Fire Bobby Engram and get a real offensive mind
Go 10-3 every year and no one bothers you

Well, everyone laughs at the B1G West, right?
We haven't won it since 2019 and will not this year.
And I didn't say NEVER in the conversation. I said in it yearly.
I'm not going to go in depth, but let's just say what would you do with a coach that thinks so little of recruiting he left the department vacant for 9 months?
There is more than just the win/lost record.

Wtf? Never mind Colorado should steer clear.

Lance Leipolds agent must have the biggest boner right now

Paul Chryst at Wisconsin: 67-27, 3 division titles
Bo Pelini at Nebraska: 66-27, 3 division titles
I don't see Wisconsin winning 9 games this year, but pretty wild how similar tenures they had

Fun fact- If PC had won yesterday, against Bert, he would have tied him in wins at UW.

Lance Leipold is who they will go after.

Some tidbits from inside the team;
Lots of finger pointing, Braelon living alone in west Madison, apparently often times a play would be called and Bostad would say they can’t block for it and Chryst would say run it anyways and they’d all argue in game over headset, scout defense told not to go hard in practice against first team O, oline is a mess. Just not aligned really anywhere.
