This firing gives me major Frank Solich vibes. Wisconsin is a program with a very established offensive system and excellent player development that makes them more relevant than they should be. They are one bad HC hire from looking a lot like Nebraska. I think they look back and wish they could still win as much as Chryst did.

Pretty sure he's an MSU fan. So not in a good place right now. I love it

Looking at their schedule on paper that looked like 9-3 should've been the floor. That they already have that 3 is pretty bad.
It's clear that Leonhard is the heavy favorite to get the real gig but it'll be interesting to see how they handle it if he drops 3 or 4.
Baylor HC is the guy since he will have the Texas footprint to help with getting better players to Wisconsin.

That's fukked up. Guy goes off and wins 72% of his games and he gets dumped for a rough start.
He fielded competitive teams with excellent defense. This is fukked up, unless Leonhard was their target and the AD and boosters wanted to secure him now
LSU isn't getting Baylor HC any time soon.

What the frick is Auburn waiting on?
Waiting on to avoid making another bad hire right off the bat hire. Might want to wait and see how the season goes before Auburn pulls the trigger.

Bielema To Wiscy
Bielema isn't going to Wisconsin. He is perfect where he is at.
I guess you aren't a very good evaluator of hiring HC to a specific school.

That’s kinda weird. One subpar start to a season and he’s canned?
Chad Morris had how many years before getting canned?

Aranda?
Best guess so far. Maybe Lance Leipold. It depends on what Auburn do.

Not a bad move. Yeah he won a lot but looking over the season results I'm struggling to find even one truly important win.
LSU and the two NY6 bowl wins were marquee but LSU was September OOC and both NY6 games came off of B10CG losses. We lost the one bowl game that I really would've liked to win (Rose vs Oregon). 0-3 in the B10CG. I think he had one other top ten win early in '16 against an MSU team that ended up being garbage. He fell flat against pretty much every other top team he faced. Michigan, PSU, and of course OSU over and over.
Wisconsin has a ceiling to be sure but at least Alvarez and Bielema beat OSU and won the conference every now and then. Chryst did neither.
Which... fine. If we're perennial gatekeepers to the truly elite teams of the B10, then fine. I guess.
But now we're losing games to Illinois and Minnesota. Losing OOC when that once wasn't a thing (Wisconsin went like 10 years or something without dropping an OOC game until LSU in Houston). And the recruiting budget is practically nil.
I love the dude and wish him well but I get the sense that we've seen what peak Chryst looks like in seven seasons, and it's a rung or two lower than where the program could be (and slipping). Time to try something new.

They don't want the interim to start off getting embarrassed by UGA by 40.
40? More likely 60! Some Auburn fans were saying there was no one else that can be interim HC that can keep team together and the recruits intact for this year.

Well, everyone laughs at the B1G West, right?
We haven't won it since 2019 and will not this year.
And I didn't say NEVER in the conversation. I said in it yearly.
I'm not going to go in depth, but let's just say what would you do with a coach that thinks so little of recruiting he left the department vacant for 9 months?
There is more than just the win/lost record.
Just like Nebraska situation with Frost.

Is it true that Wisconsin was like 0-20 vs top 25 teams under him
Lol. It's not a good record, but this isn't remotely true, either. He beat two ranked teams last October alone.
ETA: Looks like he was 13-18.
