People are starting to talk.

It starts with a poor coaching hire. They hire a good d coordinator as head coach but someone with no experience and is over his head.

They move to the SEC where they can’t beat up on the bad Big 12 anymore.

Oklahoma hasn’t won since 2000. 22 years. They’re only 3 years behind Nebraska.

And that defensive coordinator has give up four touchdowns and 240 yards of offense in the first quarter to TCU.

They won't be as bad as Nebraska but I do think they are on the path to becoming Texas A&M

I don't think Venables was a poor hire. I just think Riley was an elite coach at OU.

I say that as someone that wasn't 100% sold on Riley previously but he goes to USC and props them up immediately.

Hiring a guy who no one ever wanted as a headman has Peter principal, not Nebraska, written all over it.

Anyone else remember the Sooner homers talking about how they’d eclipse the years under Riley because the team had finally bought in? Lmao

I see the case here but location gives me pause. Nebraska isnt close to anything. OU isnt much of a drive from Dallas. Much better recruiting nearby is an advantage Nebraska doesnt have.

OU didn't have a defense previously.

It's too early to predict an NU like fall.

Oklahoma was a National power for a couple of decades before the rise of Nebraska, and they’ve remained a national power for a couple of decades after the decline of Nebraska.

OU has done it much longer, through several different eras, and under multiple different coaches.

Their location and recruiting base is also much more advantageous than Nebraska.
