Always go to Mobile, up to Montgomery 85 to Auburn.
Plenty of exits...Mobile to Montgomery watch for Cops.
Out of Mobile, Atmore is a good exit. Evergreen, Greenville. Also good. That's the way to go. Never any big traffic.

There's a shitty spot just south of Montgomery that seems ALWAYS backed up. Outside of that, it should be clear sailing. Although, the general drive from Mobile to Montgomery is one of the most mindnumbingly boring in the world. It's only really broken up by the weird Indian casino highrise in the middle of nowhere and Bates House of Turkey.

Yeah…that’s the route I usually take. Just wondering about the traffic heading that direction due to Ian.

I wouldn't think too many Ian traffic. Mobile to Tallahassee might have a lot of trucks, but once you turn up to Montgomery, shouldn't be anything

Never either. I only know, when I see it, it means the mindnumbingly boring drive is sort of close to being over, and that I might be about to hit that shitty generally inexplicable stretch of bumper to bumper traffic.

Threatened to stop there many times, but never made good on it.

The Conecuh sausage factory store has good food. But other than that and the Creek casino previously mentioned, that is one hell of a dull drive.

Between North Mobile and Montgomery, there is nothing except the Greenville-Pineapple exit.

Fill up tank in Biloxi because it’s at least 30cents higher in AL.

Bates House of Turkey is good. We always stop there on our way to see family in Atlanta area

Well that's just not fair.

There is the Indian casino/resort in Atmore. Conecuh sausage in Evergreen ALONG WITH Zaxby's, Hardees AND Shrimp Basket! Then there is Preister's Pecans in Fort Deposit, as well as the aforementioned world famous Bates House of Turkey in Greenville.

How can you pass on any?

Some have said the drive from Mobile to Montgomery is second only to the famed Route 66 in terms of excitement and lifestyle

There will likely be convoys of electric line trucks headed that way.

I take that route on my way to BR, couldn't agree more. I-65 between Montgomery and Mobile is the worst part of that trip.

We took it today. It was heavy but we were at 70-75 the whole time. Lots of emergency workers headed to Florida. Once we turned north on 65 it was a breeze
