Ramos is 2-4 in fg's.

With good placekicking, we probably would have won the FSU game. blocked fg and blocked PAT)

I was somewhat distressed when Ramos missed that 38 yard attempt versus NMexico. We need to be able to make most if not all fg's inside 42 yards.

And kicking it out of bounds on kickoffs….automatic good field position for the other team

We have a problem with our special teams in general. Fortunately, CBK realizes this and is openly addressing the problem.

How confident do you feel when they line up for a FG attempt? Not very? Me either!

At least the issues at PR looks like they have been resolved.

As far as kicking goes I just don't know if we have someone else. I was told Ramos had the biggest leg of all the kickers we had and he can't consistently kick to the endzone on kickoffs. Until the New Mexico game I thought Ramos was at least accurate since his only misses were blocks and the rest of his kicks looked pretty good, but that miss against New Mexico was not good to say the least.

I saw Kelly say he was thinking of burning someone's redshirt to take over kickoff duty so maybe we do have someone with a bigger leg? If anyone can clear that up feel free to share.

Brian Kelly doesn't think so, at this time. One miss was due to poor blocking...that is not on the kicker...

Outside of his miss last week i have confidence in his kicking...our blocking is what caused the 2 blocks. His kickoffs looked good until MSU. It appears he is too straight on when lining up to kick off and he then hooks it out of bounds.

With good special teams, we probably beat FSU. fixed it for you....

I mean 50% is never a good stat for a FG kicker.

So yes, but ST as a whole is a problem!

To be fair, he’s only “missed” once. Both a field goal and extra point were blocked.

Perhaps we have a protection issue more so than a place kicker issue.

But you did label it “place kicking game” and didn’t direct blame only at the kicker.

LSU fans have been spoiled at kicker for a long time now. Ramos is no different than what most teams in college football have for kickers.

#collegekickers trends every Saturday for a reason.

We've been spoiled for the past few years when it comes to kickoffs, extra points & field goals.
Hope we can get some consistency from Ramos right now!

I think we’re using a Sr, Finison, along with Ramos…crazy to think we redshirt a kicker.

If a QB throws a pass the receiver let's the ball go thru his hands for an INT.... is that a QB issue?

LSU could have York kicking, but if the line isn't blocking out... it's not on the kicker.

We don’t have a kicker issue, we have a special teams issue. And that appears to be poor coaching. Mark my words it will cost us another game this year just like it cost us FSU.

It’s my son’s stat, he IS 1 for 3 on FGs this year. The two ‘misses’ were both blocked. Not a great year so far.

The thread I started was about the quality of our kicker as far as recruiting rankings go. My point was that we have the top ranked kickers right here and they’re getting away…and I bet the LSU kicker room got interesting.

That’s the nature of the game, you don’t need a kicker until you do. Guess we got kind of shuffled around unfortunately.

I hope Ramos and/or Dibert kick arse…

Your post is like Michigan saying, "If our running back had ran the ball better, this would have been a first down"
