How are these polls so close?

Granted I'm in Louisiana surrounded by mostly Conservatives (thank God! A primary reason for return home) but national polls show thing a whole heck of a lot tighter than I call comfortable.
Bleeding Border
Inflation through the roof
Gas is still high
Investments are crashing
etc.
How in God's name are things so tight?

As far as state reps go I think most people just look at how much pork their congressmen can bring to their district to juice the economy.
They aren't necessarily as concerned about the balance of power nationally

Because most of us are locked in to our political tribe and/or live in a bubble where we don’t get much (if any) exposure to differing opinions on a personal basis as you mentioned. It doesn’t matter that joe’s administration is a disaster. He’s one of them and no matter how bad he gets a Republican would be worse in their eyes. Especially MAGA. So they’re circling their wagons and Independents will decide at the last minute whether Roe matters more than let’s say… your bank account.

Polls are primarily run by left wing organizations with the primary goal to frustrate GOP voters from voting. They don't ask the necessary amount of Republicans in their polls and Republicans tend to not answer polls.

The polls have a 3 to 5 point bias toward dems in their methodology. When a race is polled at 50/50, it's really 52/48 for the republican. Let not your heart be troubled.
